    Quite happy with the quality of the materials and how complete the package was. The free design help made it easy to get all the details in one order. The guide was simple to use. Got smooth cuts with a metal blade saw (fiber blade didn’t work well). I definetly recomend this system.

    Possibly the worst customer experience I have ever had! Bought a £215 brass letterbox which was only installed for 7 days when I noticed mottling (?). Contacted Ironmongery Direct who said someone would call me back and that I’d get a replacement once I sent photos. Sent photos to no response. Several days later no response so called back. Was told that it wasn’t weatherproof as not lacquered, and the mottling was to be expected (after a week??). Apparently they had spoken to their supplier who said that would happen (then why are you charging £215 for it?). So, it would seem, they felt no need to contact me. So no offer again or a replacement or any discount as that’s apparently now ‘my problem’. I was just told that they didn’t have an alternative so would not be offering one. 😳 I asked about their complaints procedure and was told I could email Megan and she could email me back. So nothing formal in place then? I have had previously a great experience with ID but I wouldn’t give them my money again.
