After placing an order with this company, I quickly got an email saying the item was out of stock, and my order was cancelled. I made a new selection of the same value and placed the order, thinking no money would be taken from me since the first order was cancelled so fast. I saw both transactions in my pending account, assuming the second one would disappear because why would it be processed? But checking today, both payments have been taken! I chatted with Matthew at American Golf, and he was not helpful. He didn't take responsibility for their system being faulty. The website shouldn't let you order something that's not in stock, which it obviously knew because the cancellation email came so quick. I was told that their terms and conditions stated I would be charged at the time of purchase and would receive a refund in about 5 working days. That would be fine if I had actually received the item or changed my mind, but not when the system has such a clear mistake. Now I'm out of money until next week, and while I can manage it, many others might struggle, especially with the cost of living crisis. I won’t be a repeat customer because of the poor system, lack of responsibility from the company, and the bad customer service, which basically made it feel like this was all my fault (though Matthew didn't say it directly, it was definitely implied).
