The packed trike came, and I started putting it together. The guide didn’t always show the parts I had (seemed kind of old). The first video I found was a bit better but still looked outdated. Never could find the trike’s serial number. It was suposed to be where the book said. The second video helped more (it showed the same trike as mine). But some things were not talked about (like the front fork springs). How do you even use those?
Anyway, after I finally got it built right, a big dissapointment because when it was time to turn it on—it wouldn’t. Trying to fix it didn’t work. Even troubleshooting with Mike, the Perraro support guy, was tricky. After lots of tries (including FaceTime calls), the Polar had to be replaced. They sent another base model. It seemed like one that had been sitting around and worked on. One bar under the back basket was bent, and the rear brake calipers were way too tight to fix normally. Had to call a bike/trike expert to take them off and swap them with the ones from the first base model. He said they were "worked on." Ended up paying over $150 just to get this Polar e-trike moving.
At the end, I was just glad the electric system turned on right away. But then the back brakes made a loud sound (because of the caliper issue), slowing me down again.
Now I’ve been riding it and figuring things out, and I am enjoying it.
