After 15 years using an American book printer, I switched to Mixam to have my project printed here in Canada. Initially I uploaded the project November 20 and was surprised that they gave an "estimated date" of December 9th for delivery, which is much longer than most of their competitors for this kind of project. Initially I was told that my art was fine, then a day later was told that they had made an adjustment to the cover for the bleed. I signed off immediately. That was November 24. I noticed the estimated date was now December 11. On December 11 I failed to get any shipping info, so inquired about when my project would be ready. Without apology, explanation or an offer of compensation, they updated my initial file to say the "estimated date is December 29." Meanwhile, the American printer was still offering to get my project done before Christmas if I shipped my art by December 16. Their standard response is that everything is an estimate, and evidently those "estimates" aren't even close to reality. Tired of their lame excuses. Their estimate should really be "whenever." I have more than 40 years experience dealing with printers -- nobody credible delivers such terrible customer service.
