    Budget.com

After a long day of travel, we arrived at Fuerteventura airport around 9pm, ready to pick up our rental car. We were exhausted and just wanted to get to our hotel. There was a lady at the counter who seemed really rude. She let someone jump ahead of us in line, even though we had been waiting for ages. It felt like they knew each other, which made it even more frustrating. The service was incredibly slow; we ended up waiting over an hour. It was really disappointing and definitely not the kind of customer service you expect. I'll be looking elsewhere for car rentals next time.

I rented a car for 8 days to visit my elderly aunt, who'd just gotten out of the hospital. While I was there, my brother-in-law had a medical emergency, and sadly, we had to take him off life support. Alaska Airlines were amazing and rescheduled my flight, giving me full credit for my return. Budget, on the other hand, kept all the money for the last 4 days of my rental, even though I didn't use the car. When I reached out to customer service, they gave me a measly $15.18 credit. I wasn't asking for a full refund, just maybe half or two days back. But nope, they probably rented the car out again and made double the money. Seriously, Budget? That's just disgraceful.

My girlfriend and I rented a car in Phoenix, AZ, Aug. 2024. We got the car without any issues, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. Unfortunately, we forgot to check if it had a spare tire. We didn’t get the road hazard insurance because my friend has AAA. While in Sedona, one of the tires went flat and wouldn’t hold air. We went to Big O Tires, and they told us it couldn’t be patched and needed to be replaced. AAA doesn’t cover tire replacements, and Dollar Rent a Car wouldn’t help us since we didn’t have the road hazard insurance. We ended up buying a new tire for the Dollar car. When we returned the car, we asked how to get reimbursed for the tire. After a few phone calls, my girlfriend couldn’t get any answers. A couple of months later, I sent a few emails and Dollar was very helpful. They reimbursed us easily once we sent the receipt from Big O Tires. Summary: Double check for a spare, and get the road hazard if you don’t have one. For any issues, make sure to email customer service!
