Stayed at this Airbnb, and it was a total disaster. Ants everywhere, crawling all over the place, made it impossible to stay there. Tried to get help from Airbnb, but they were no help at all. Had to book a hotel last minute and pay out of pocket, which was super frustrating. Out of the $1,400 I paid, they only gave back $200 because the host had a no refund policy. The place was definitely not as advertised, yet Airbnb took the host's side. Felt totally let down. Just be careful because Airbnb might not have your back if things go sideways.

I had a troubling experience during my recent stay in Buenos Aires, which left me feeling uneasy. When I arrived at the building, the porter directed me to the service elevator. As a black man, this felt off, especially since other guests, who weren’t black, never mentioned anything like this. When I reached the right floor, my host didn’t open the door, claiming he fell asleep. I was stuck outside, talking to Airbnb support for hours before I got any real help. Even when I left at 6 a.m., the porter didn’t acknowledge me. Airbnb said the host violated their guidelines, but they didn’t address the porter’s actions. It’s frustrating when companies say they have a non-discrimination policy but fail to be transparent about their investigations.

Stayed at an Airbnb in Streedagh, and it was a bit of a mess, literally. The host, Mike, charged a pretty steep cleaning fee, so you'd expect the place to be spotless, right? Nope. Windows were dirty, blocking the sea view, so I cleaned them myself. Then, Mike mentions in his review that guests should clean, too. Wait, what? If I'm paying for cleaning, I shouldn't have to do it! And get this, the fireplace was listed as an amenity, but Mike was upset we used it because it was summer. Hello, it's Ireland! Weather doesn’t follow a calendar. Airbnb wasn't any help either. Feels like Mike's trying to double-dip—charging for cleaning and expecting guests to do it. Not going back, that's for sure.
