Our booking was canceled last minit

Our booking was canceled last minit. The replacement apartmnt had blood stains on the walls and carpet, no bed sheets, car jump leads in the bathroom, and holes in the ceiling. Airbnb refunded us partly in coupons, which took almost four months and numerous phone calls to recieve. They did not make it clear that the coupons had to be used in one go, or you’d lose the balance, resulting in us losing $150 worth of coupons. Additionally, they made me create an Airbnb host account just to receive the other part of the cash refund. The customer service was atrocious, with broken promises and hours wasted on the phone. A complete nightmre.

The lodging company canceled our reservation

The lodging company canceled our reservation three weeks prior to our arrival. Since it's a busy time, all other choices tripled in cost. Airbnb gave us only a 25 euro voucher for the trouble. The customer service is bad, taking 12 hours to reply to a message. This makes me hesitant to use them again. Consider carefully before booking with them.

    We booked a villa in

We booked a villa in Corfu last minute through Airbnb, just two days before arrival. The villa was listed by Hestia Travel Corfu, and it promised amenities like a flat screen TV and free internet. When we got there, the place was lovely and had a pool, but it was pretty remote up in the hills. Our main issue became clear quickly—there was practically no usable internet. We tested speeds at the router and got a dismal 0.75 MB/s download and 0 MB/s upload. Even after rebooting, it only slightly improved to 1.3 MB/s download, which was still too slow for streaming Netflix or sending basic messages. We had to drive to a nearby Taverna to contact the host, Georgios. He came quickly but was passive-aggressive, claiming the property had WiFi but “just not fast WiFi.” He didn’t call the ISP or arrange for an engineer. Instead, he falsely agreed to a cancellation and refund, only to deny it later. Airbnb stepped in and managed a full refund for us, although Hestia Travel only offered two nights' refund initially. Airbnb's support was excellent, and they handled everything smoothly. Very grateful for their help.

    Stayed at this villa, and

Stayed at this villa, and there was a pretty serious drain issue. The owner couldn't fix it, so I reached out to Airbnb. They really came through for us. This isn't the first time they've helped me out with a booking problem. We got a refund without much hassle. Seems like they've learned from past mistakes, which is refreshing. Important to note: you gotta communicate through their platform, provide evidence, and be prompt with your responses. It really makes a difference. I've seen a lot of negative reviews, but my experience was positive. Unlike Booking.com, who just leaves you hanging, Airbnb actually tries to help.

Stayed at a property recently, and it was a bit of a letdown. The host claimed it was a non-smoking place, but the whole house reeked of stale cigarette smoke. The smell was everywhere – like it was soaked into the walls and furniture. Turns out, the host actually smokes in a part of the house but still advertises it as non-smoking. They even said they couldn’t smell it. I couldn’t stay there, so I left the next day. Thankfully, Airbnb was really supportive and helped me find a solution quickly. I use Airbnb often, and it’s good to know they’ve got my back in situations like this.

    Joined Airbnb back in January

Joined Airbnb back in January 2024 without much clue about what to expect, just kinda went with the flow. Turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made in a while. It's let me stay in my cozy home since becoming a widow, and I've had the pleasure of meeting some genuinely amazing folks. Sure, not all guests were perfect—about 5% caused some minor issues—but Airbnb handled it quickly and fairly. I always feel supported, knowing there's someone to chat with if anything goes wrong. Honestly, it's been a great experience, and I couldn't be happier. Huge thanks!

    Using Airbnb has always been

Using Airbnb has always been a breeze for me. You book, pay, show up, and enjoy your stay. It's really that simple. What I don't get is all these people blaming Airbnb for stuff that's clearly the host's fault. Airbnb is just the middleman, connecting guests with hosts. They can't control what each host does or doesn't do. It's absurd to think otherwise. And honestly, if you opt for the absolute cheapest place, don't be surprised if it’s not up to your standards. You get what you pay for. It's been a reliable platform for me, and I think it deserves more credit.

    We were all packed for

We were all packed for our dream trip to Lucca in Tuscany when, out of nowhere, my wife fell sick just hours before our flight. Totally gutted, I jumped onto the Airbnb website in the middle of the night to cancel our booking. To my surprise, within just 10 minutes, they had already refunded over half of our booking cost. I honestly thought it would be a hassle to get any money back, but Airbnb came through super fast. Hopefully, we can recover the rest through our travel insurance, but I’m just so impressed with Airbnb’s quick response. Thanks a ton, Airbnb!

    So frustrating!

As a host, dealing with this company has been a breeze. I love that I can actually talk to a real person whenever I have issues, and they get sorted out quickly. Yes, their rates are a bit on the higher side, but honestly, it's worth it for the peace of mind knowing everything and everyone is insured. I'm super happy with their service. It's such a contrast to booking.com, where getting any help is a nightmare. They once double booked my place and left me to deal with the mess myself. So frustrating! This company has made my hosting experience so much better.

    Seriously, Airbnb's got your back

Man, I ditched the other booking site ages ago because their customer support is a joke. Airbnb, though? They've always been solid for us. But I slipped up and used that other site again recently, and guess what? Instantly ran into a problem. How do they mess up so bad? We had a host in NYC who accidentally left us without a place to stay. No big deal, mistakes happen. But Airbnb came through big time. They refunded our money and even gave us a $200 credit since we were stuck in the city. Seriously, Airbnb's got your back.

    Just got back from a

Just got back from a two-week stay at Casa Jose in Majorda, Goa, and I have to say, it was amazing. This was our second time here, and we loved every moment. The place is in a peaceful spot, close to the beach and not far from the main road where you can hop on a bus to Margao. The hosts are incredibly friendly and really go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. They're always willing to help with anything you need. Honestly, nothing is too much trouble for them. It’s such a lovely place to stay, definitely coming back next year!

    I've been hosting on and

I've been hosting on and off since 2020, starting right when COVID hit. Initially, things were smooth; I had a house with an attached apartment and never really faced issues with guests or the platform itself. Then, I sold that place and started hosting again, and that's when trouble began. Hosting can be rewarding, but it's also a necessity for me. Most guests are genuinely nice, but some expect luxury on a budget. I rent out rooms in my own home, and while things were fine at first, lately the platform hasn't been supportive. Guests sometimes misrepresent the space, and their complaints are taken seriously, even when they contradict themselves. It's frustrating when they pretend everything's perfect, only to later criticize in reviews, hoping for a discount. As a guest, I've traveled widely and had only one issue, where the site sided with the host despite clear evidence. It's puzzling and inconsistent.

What happened with my Airbnb booking

So, here’s what happened with my Airbnb booking. I tried renting a place from this host, Scott, and things went south real quick. Basically, he refused to rent to me just because I speak Russian. Like, seriously? I've been living in the U.S. for 7 years, all verified and legit on Airbnb, but he wasn’t having it. He even made fun of how I spell my name with a sarcastic “ha-ha” thrown in. I snapped some screenshots and sent a complaint to Airbnb, but guess what? Nada. No response at all, just silence. For a company that’s supposed to be all about inclusivity and trust, this is really disappointing. It feels like they’re ignoring the issue completely, and honestly, it’s pretty upsetting. Still waiting for some kind of acknowledgment or action.

    Listing my apartment on Airbnb

Listing my apartment on Airbnb was a rollercoaster. At first, bookings flooded in, but then chaos hit. Somehow, a booking slipped through on dates I had clearly blocked out. Despite my efforts to contact the guests, it was like yelling into a void. Airbnb said there was a setting mishap, even though I swore I turned off auto-confirmations. They walked me through fixing it, but the problem kept coming back, messing up my ratings. Trying to resolve this was a headache. Calls routed to India, and the reps there were dismissive and dodged questions. It felt like Airbnb only cared about their cut, not us hosts. Frustrated, I'm considering listing elsewhere. Airbnb’s rep isn't what it once was; feels like management's just coasting.

    So, let me tell you

So, let me tell you about my experience. I had high hopes, but their website keeps sending my guests the wrong address. I called support, and while it shows correctly on my end, it's still messing up for my guests. I updated the arrival guide weeks ago, yet folks are still getting the wrong info and can't find the place. This has led to some bad reviews. The site is also pretty hard to navigate, with info scattered everywhere. On the upside, bookings started coming in quickly. But honestly, I need instant updates when I make changes to provide a better experience for my guests.

    I've been booking my travel

I've been booking my travel stays through Airbnb for quite a while. The concept is great, but sometimes it feels like a gamble. You really have to read the reviews carefully because there's no real moderation. One time, I landed in an amazing place with the friendliest hosts. Another time, I got scammed, and it was a nightmare trying to get support. Airbnb really needs to step up their game with some sort of verification process, maybe ask hosts for video proof of their listings. It would make a huge difference and give travelers more peace of mind.

We decided to try a long-term stay

So we decided to try a long-term stay through Airbnb and ended up at Gloria’s place in Richmond, Texas. She seemed super nice at first, even calling me “like her daughter” and my son “like a grandson.” After about 8 months, we got approved for an apartment, and I thought it would be respectful to tell her. That’s when things got weird. She demanded that I move out in 24 hours because I didn’t give her a three weeks notice, even though I didn’t have the keys to my new place yet. I had already paid $850 for the full month, but she didn’t care. She also wanted me to pay $30 a day until I left. Not cool at all. If you’re thinking about staying with her, don’t. Stick to verified hosts on Airbnb.

    As someone who's been hosting

As someone who's been hosting on Airbnb for a while, I've noticed a few things that others might find helpful. While Airbnb is fantastic for getting your place booked quickly, dealing with issues can be a bit tricky. When things go wrong, like property damage or guests not following house rules, it feels like Airbnb usually sides with the guests. Getting compensated for damages is more challenging than it should be. They sometimes issue refunds without even checking with you, which can be frustrating. And if you get an unfair review, don't expect much help in getting it sorted out. Overall, it's a great platform for visibility, but managing disputes can be quite tough.

I've been using Airbnb for over a decade now, and generally, it's been a smooth ride with fantastic hosts and comfy stays. Recently, I had two awesome experiences in Portugal that I was super excited to rave about. But, life got busy, and by the time I sat down to write those glowing reviews, I found out I missed the 14-day review window. I was puzzled by this policy and reached out to customer support. It felt like I was talking to a brick wall. The reps seemed tied down by strict rules, unable to budge even a bit. It's frustrating because my positive feedback would benefit everyone involved. Makes me a bit uneasy thinking about how they'd handle bigger issues.

    Not quick support

I recently tried using Airbnb, and honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. You'd think a company worth billions would have top-notch service, but nah. Their customer support? Practically non-existent when you need it the most. It feels like shouting into the void. And don't get me started on the new website. It's like they went out of their way to make it more complicated. Why mess with something that was working just fine? The whole thing feels like a maze, and not the fun kind. Just trying to fix a small issue becomes a major headache. For such a big name, I expected way better. Here's hoping they actually listen to feedback and step up their game.

    I used to rely on

I used to rely on Airbnb for all my trips, always understanding the cleaning fee and being okay with it. But recently, I booked a place for two people, only to be told after paying that there's an extra £28 charge for the second person. Really frustrating when you're on a tight budget. Had to cancel, and the owner was fine with it, but now I'm waiting for my refund. They said it could take 14 days, and I had to pay for a different place last month, so I'm almost £100 down. Chasing up Airbnb and my bank has been a nightmare, wasting even more time. This hidden fee thing is a dealbreaker. Now I'm looking for other options. It's a shame.

I booked an Airbnb for a work trip, but had to cancel when my schedule changed. According to the policy, I should get 50% back, but my host twisted the rules and kept more than they should. This isn’t the first time an Airbnb host has tried to pull a fast one. I’ve learned the hard way that you need to be super careful with these hosts. Make sure your plans are rock solid and leave the place spotless, like you were never even there. Jaqueline and Danisha from California really took advantage of the fine print. Seriously, guys, watch out and always read the reviews and policies closely!

I've been trying to use their website for ages, but it's been a real headache. Logging in was impossible for months, and when I finally got in today, the prices were displayed in some currency I couldn't even identify. Super confusing. Then, when I tried again, I got redirected to services that I have no interest in at all. It's like the site doesn't even want me to be a customer. Seriously, I just want a smooth online experience, but this is just frustrating. I hope they fix these issues soon because it's really testing my patience and making me reconsider if it's worth the hassle.

This experience was frustrating, to say the least. Trying to get my receipt after the trip was a nightmare. Every link I clicked on just sent me back to their site, promoting future stays. I needed a receipt, not a wild goose chase. It felt like an endless loop, and I didn’t have time for this. I only had a couple of minutes to get this done, and it shouldn't be this complicated. Just wanted a simple process, but instead, it was cumbersome and time-wasting. This really needs to be fixed. I've been using Airbnb for years without any issues, but my last experience was pretty disappointing. The host made checkout a nightmare. So, I wrote an honest review about it. Airbnb removed my review, claiming it violated their policy because it was retaliatory. Isn’t the point of a review to share your experience? Now I can't trust Airbnb reviews. It's clear why this host had only glowing reviews—negative ones get removed. Be cautious with Airbnb and take those perfect reviews with a grain of salt. They're not always showing the real experiences people have.

    Booking places in France on

Booking places in France on Airbnb is a headache. You think you've found the perfect spot, only to discover most aren't even available. It's frustrating when you're all set to pay, and then you wait forever for a refund. I’m trying to find a place in the Alps, but five places turned me down. Why? Mostly because the prices weren't updated for the ski season, yet the listings are still up. It just wastes so much time. Airbnb should really fix this—it makes finding a place super annoying. I've had enough, honestly. I’m going to try my luck elsewhere.

I finally managed to book an Airbnb in Florida, but it was a huge hassle. The customer support was a nightmare. I kept getting bounced around from one agent to another, and no one seemed to know what they were doing. It shouldn't take three hours to book a place! I was so frustrated by the end of it. The process needs to be way smoother and customer support definitely needs improvement. Booking a simple stay shouldn't feel like pulling teeth.

I found a great spot on Airbnb for my weekend getaway, but man, those cleaning fees were a shocker. The place was nice and the price seemed right, but when I saw the extra charges, it was almost as much as the room itself! It kinda felt like a bait and switch.
