    Our tour director was clear, patient, and kept everything on time. Hotels were convenient, and included visits felt thoughtfully chosen. The booking portal made payments easy, which took stress off planning.

    We recently completed the Contrasts

    We recently completed the Contrasts of Switzerland tour. It’s mostly just train tickets and hotels. You travel in standard class, and there’s nothing unique about the experience. Unlike guided bus tours, no details about the places are shared during the train rides. You could simply arrange the hotels and tickets yourself and save a good amount. To me, this tour isn’t worth the cost.

    If you saved up your money and were looking

    If you saved up your money and were looking forward to a dream vacation, I would suggest finding a different tour company. I booked 9 months in advance because I liked the hotels and itinerary they offered. But three weeks before the trip, I was told that my hotel in central Rome was moved to the suburbs – 45 minutes away in a residential area, far from any sights or restaurants. Two weeks before the tour, Trafalgar couldn't even secure tickets to the Vatican. It gets worse, though – while on the trip, other travelers shared that our Venice hotel was also moved out of the island. It was placed in an industrial zone, a 30-minute bus ride away, plus a 20-minute water taxi ride to get into Venice, instead of simply walking out the door of the hotel. I missed out on the full Rome and Venice experience. It’s too late for me, but not for you. Trafalgar, you should change the name of this tour from Great Italian Cities to Suburban Italian Cities to avoid misleading future customers.

    We booked our Trafalgar trip across Europe.

    We booked our Trafalgar trip across Europe. The cost we paid included a guide and porterage services, or so we thought. During the trip, we were constantly asked to tip both the guide and the driver—4 euros per person per day for the driver and 6 euros per person per day for the guide. We felt like we were paying twice for the same services, especially after already spending so much on the tour. This meant an extra 20 euros per day for 21 days (an additional 420 Euros / $714 AUD). It seems Trafalgar doesn't offer a fair wage to their staff, so we ended up covering the difference for them, even though the brochure mentioned those services should be included. It felt like a bit of an unfair situation. Next time, we’ll choose a different company.

    I had to cancel my trip to Italy, but Trafalgar

    I had to cancel my trip to Italy, but Trafalgar was helpful in refunding the amount of $2329.74 for me and my companion on 10/24/24. Unfortunately, the insurance company has been difficult to deal with. I sent all my information via certified mail, and it was confirmed as received on November 8th. However, when I called, they claimed they did not get it, but I was finally given a reference number #3457971. I am still unable to walk due to a bulging disc, pinched nerve, and sciatica, and have had various medical tests since October 12th.     The tour was enjoyable, and the Tour Director

    The tour was enjoyable, and the Tour Director and Driver were good, but the company support was not great. When we made the booking, the website mentioned that the itinerary would update with more information "soon," but it never did. Our tour had 4 optional seasonal experiences, and even though I contacted customer service two weeks before the trip, I couldn't get a clear answer on what would be available until the Tour Director reached out. This didn't leave enough time to plan and book any of the additional activities since only one was offered.
