    Picked up what I thought would be a Ford Focus at Belfast International, but got handed a Nissan Juke instead. Not quite what I expected. First time in a Juke, and let’s just say it was a bit of a shocker. The horn was dead, which led to a couple of close calls—once when a car nearly reversed into me and another when someone drifted into my lane. Then, the headlights decided to take a night off on those dark country roads. The car felt more like a boat in rough seas, and the driver’s seat was anything but comfy. The handbrake? Felt like it was practically in the backseat. Plus, it was all in kilometers, not miles. The whole experience was a letdown.

    So there we were, just landed at Alicante airport, it's 10pm, and my two kids were exhausted. All we wanted was to grab our car and head out. But surprise! They hit us with a location charge of €175.00. I was shocked because their T&C's clearly mentioned €33.00. We felt cornered; I had no choice but to sign the paperwork. The kids were tired, and we needed to get going. Later, I realized it was tied to Avis somehow. Honestly, I’d steer clear next time. It felt like they took advantage of our situation, and that's just not right.

    Picked up a rental car from Heathrow and it was a nightmare. The car broke down the next day, and I had to call AA. Turns out, the engine barely had any oil, no recent service despite 31,000 miles on it. Tires were underinflated, missing dust caps, and the rear wiper blade was completely gone. Tried calling their customer service, but no one picked up even after an hour. Filed a complaint, and here I am, three weeks later, still no response. When I returned the car, the staff seemed more interested in pushing extra charges than addressing issues. Oh, and my deposit? Still waiting on that, too. The whole experience was a mess—definitely wouldn’t recommend.
