Last week, I was presented with an estimate along with a fake photo of creosote buildup in my chimney. The estimator strongly suggested that cleaning would be very costly and recommended a full chimney liner replacement for $5,000 as the only long-term solution. However, I sought a second opinion from another company, who inspected and cleaned my chimney today for $229. They provided a live camera view of the interior, showing that the chimney was in good condition—contrary to the image previously shown to me.
Based on this experience, I would caution others to seek a second opinion before committing to work with BHO Chimney.
