Emails were thorough and specific, but a few replies took a day longer than promised. Still, my questions on school list and essays were resolved.

Structure I actually needed

My coach didn’t sugarcoat anything and that helped. Weekly goals, draft deadlines, mock interviews. I stopped spinning and started producing. The price stung at first, but the clarity and accountability were worth it for us.

Ruined child's college admissions

The Ingenius counselors are mostly part-timers, very busy with their geaduate studies. Frequent short-notice schedule changes and superficial counselling. I blame Ingenius for the many rejections my high-performing high schooler received. From schools she should have gotten into or at least waitlisted. Ingenius provided wrong advice. We hired them thinking they could provide expertise we thought we didn't have ourselves We were wrong. We would have been better off navigating the college prep and applucation process ourselves. Likely with better results. Very disappointing. Avoid Ingenius at all costs. Trust your own process.

My IG counselors were really helpful!

My IG counselors were really helpful! I don’t think I would’ve gotten into my dream school early without them. I joined IG in my late 11th grade, and my counselors helped me turn the little I had when I first started into a well-organized profile. They were especially helpful with my essays. Even though I’m a decent writer thanks to my humanities background, it takes me a lot of time to get my work to a level I’m happy with, especially when the writing involves reflecting on my life. My counselors sped up the process a lot, helping me to really dig deep and find the important details to include in my essays. Through multiple drafts, they helped refine my essays, cutting out unnecessary parts and expanding on the best parts. I also felt like they were there for me every step of the way. Would definitely recommend!

Although I faced some early mentor swaps

Although I faced some early mentor swaps that made things a little unclear, Ingenius ultimately matched me with a mentor who guided me through my application journey. My mentor, Kevin, was extremely committed, even helping me with my essay late into the night. Thanks to the help from Ingenius, I got into my dream school :)

Although I gained useful insights overall

Although I gained useful insights overall, there were times I wanted a faster reply from certain team members. Though it's understandable, more support in those moments would have been helpfull.

I am so pleased to have gotten into my dream school Cornell, and I couldn't have achieved this without Ingenious. I am extremely grateful for the help with my application and gained so much more than just admission. I'm glad I had the chance to work with a team that was not only efficient and productive but also very supportive.
