Honestly, Delta, you gotta step up your game

Hey folks, so picture this: I’m all set for my business trip, ticket in hand, feeling all fancy with my Business Class seat on Delta. But then, chaos unfolds. My flight gets delayed again and again, and just when I thought it couldn't get worse, they cancel it without a peep. Not a single staff member seemed to know what was going on or why. Next morning, I'm stuck in an Economy seat, squished in 18C, even though I shelled out for Business. No apologies, no compensation. Felt like a slap in the face for someone who's flown Business with them for years. Honestly, Delta, you gotta step up your game. This isn’t how you treat loyal customers!

    I bought a ticket from

I bought a ticket from ASAP, and the next day I needed to change the flight date. I called Delta Airlines, and Mike, a guy with an Indian accent from New Jersey, answered. He said my ticket was canceled and I needed to buy a new one, but promised I'd get a refund in a few weeks. This was on October 27, 2024. Weeks passed, no refund. Every time I called, they said Mike wasn’t available and to call back later. Last night, they just ignored me and denied everything. My flight was a nightmare too—no seat assignment, stuck in the last row, no space for my carry-on, and my luggage got lost. This agency is a total scam, charging me three times!

    Disaster

Man, let me tell you about this disaster. I booked a flight, expecting a smooth trip, but boy was I wrong. They kept us in the dark about delays for hours. They knew ahead of time but didn’t bother to inform anyone until the last minute, just to dodge refunds, I guess. We were stuck at the airport for over 10 hours, and they didn’t even offer us a sip of water or a snack. Ridiculous, right? Trying to reach customer service was a joke. I waited almost three hours on hold, only for the call time to reset. They didn’t even try to explain or help us out. Honestly, this airline is a complete letdown. Delta, you really messed up big time.

    So, I boarded this Delta

So, I boarded this Delta flight, right? And first thing I notice, all the blinds are down. It's daytime, and I thought FAA wanted them up. Delta says it's to keep the cabin cool, but the aircon wasn't cutting it. As we start landing, the flight attendants didn't even bother checking seat belts or seats. The kid in front had his belt dangling in the aisle, and the person in front of my wife kept their seat reclined the entire trip, which was super annoying. Plus, they gave us wrong info about our connecting flight. Honestly, after this messy experience and their complete lack of response to complaints, I'm not flying with them again.

    Oh, what a mess

Oh, what a mess it was with Delta Airlines! Imagine landing after a long flight, only to find out your luggage has vanished into thin air. That's exactly what happened to me three weeks ago. And the compensation? A measly $236 to cover over $5,000 worth of my belongings. We're talking clothes, jewelry, shoes, even sentimental items with memories attached. You can’t put a price on those, can you? It's been a frustrating ordeal, to say the least. If you're thinking of flying with them, I'd seriously reconsider. It's not just about the money, but the inconvenience and the memories lost. Delta, you really dropped the ball on this one.

    I booked an international flight

I booked an international flight with Delta for my granddaughter, and had to change part of it today. They charged me an extra $209.78, so I tried to pay with my AmEx Delta Skymiles card. But, when I got the verification text, it said the transaction was for $8,127.80! I called Delta and they said there'd be a 53-minute wait, so I called AmEx. They said the transaction wasn't showing up and to stop it. I tried again with my Skymiles Silver card and got the same crazy amount. Finally, I used my American Airlines card and it worked fine. Just a heads up – always read those verification texts. It might save you from a huge mistake!

    I used to swear by

I used to swear by Delta Airlines, they were my go-to for every trip. Lately though, things have really gone downhill. The flight attendants? Not friendly at all anymore. And don’t get me started on their upgrade policy. It's a joke now, especially if you’re loyal and spend a lot using American Express. Feels like they couldn’t care less about us regular travelers. It’s like they don’t even want to acknowledge us. Honestly, it’s a golden opportunity for other airlines to step up and win over some of Delta’s customers. If Delta keeps this up, it’s not gonna end well for them. And the worst part? They don’t seem to care at all.

    I had a flight to

I had a flight to Miami with Delta, initially scheduled for 8:00 but they moved it to 7:00 a month before. Got to the airport on time, ready to go. Then, 30 minutes before boarding, they delayed the flight by 2 hours. There were no weather issues in New York or Miami. No explanations given, and nobody around to talk to. They could have texted us in the morning to let us know about the delay. It's frustrating that Delta seems clueless about what's happening with their own flights and can't inform their customers properly. They treated us with zero respect. Delta is unprofessional and rude. I won't be flying with them again.

I had a bit of a saga with Delta recently. My luggage showed up all banged up, and I ended up stranded for an extra day because of a missed connection—they delayed my flight. So, I tried reaching out to them in the UK, but it was like shouting into the void. Their chat wasn’t working, and I couldn’t get through on the phone. I ended up filling out their complaint form online, hoping for some help or at least a nod that they got it. But nope, radio silence. Not a peep from them. It’s frustrating, you know? Just trying to get some reimbursement for the extra expenses and repair costs, but it feels like I'm talking to a wall.

    Flying back to LA from

Flying back to LA from Cancun was a bit of a letdown. The ticket was pricier than Alaska or Aeromexico, and the service didn't match up. There were no meals during meal times, which was a bummer. Plus, other airlines offer free WiFi, but not this one. The worst part? They randomly searched bags at the gate. It felt off that only solo travelers and minorities were picked. I got stern looks and was asked to open my bag and even take off my shoes. Super slow and awkward with everyone watching. Also, when I asked about drinks or food, I was told to check the menu, but they didn’t even have almonds. Not flying with them again.

    It's disappointing

I flew with Delta, and honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. I booked through Virgin Atlantic, thinking I'd get the usual perks, but nope! Turns out, if you're not a Gold Member, Delta doesn’t recognize any of the benefits I was used to. It's frustrating because they don't make this clear when you're booking. The plane itself wasn’t great for long haul either—cramped seats and I'm not even tall! Plus, the food? Let's just say, I've had better meals at a high school cafeteria. It's disappointing when you expect a certain standard and get none of it. Learned my lesson though, and I'll be steering clear of Delta from now on.

Traveling with this airline was a nightmare. They gave me 3 or 4 different arrival times, none of which were correct. Then, it took nearly an hour to get my luggage off the carousel. During the holiday season, when airports are already super busy, this is just unacceptable. This airline is one of the reasons why travel is such a hassle. Honestly, it’s the worst airline I've ever flown with. You'd think they’d have things figured out by now. People don't have time to be hours late, especially during the holidays. Show some respect and stop pretending you’re better than you are. You're just causing problems for everyone!

    Flying with Delta from Boston

Flying with Delta from Boston to Columbus, GA was quite the adventure. First, the Boston flight kept getting pushed back, and then, once in Atlanta, I discovered my next flight was a whopping 6-hour wait. Decided to Lyft home and let my checked bag continue to Columbus. But then, the saga began. They said they'd deliver my bag, but it never came. After chasing them down, they switched gears, saying I'd need to pick it up—except they never bothered to inform me. My bag was chilling in an Atlanta warehouse, and I was promised an email in 48-72 hours that never arrived. Called them again, and still no bag. Frustrating!

    Never flying Delta again

I recently took three Delta flights in just two days, and honestly, it was a disaster. Every single flight got delayed by 1-3 hours. The last flight to Sydney not only got delayed but ended up being cancelled. I've been with JetBlue for years without a single problem. This time, I decided to use my Amex Delta Skymiles card and book with Delta, and I'm really regretting it now. How does every flight get delayed? Now I'm stuck in LA, waiting in a super long line to rebook with everyone else. It's exhausting and the worst experience I've ever had. I'm definitely cancelling my Amex Delta card. Never flying Delta again.

    I've been a loyal customer

I've been a loyal customer of Virgin and Delta for years, flying countless times. Usually, Delta has been pretty good at sorting out any issues that came up. But lately, since 2026, their customer service has really gone downhill. The staff don't seem to care much about helping out anymore, and they seriously lack common sense. I often go out of my way, taking worse flights or indirect routes just to stick with one airline, but Delta's making me rethink that. Their once-reliable service and knowledgeable staff seem to be a thing of the past. It's like they don't value loyalty anymore, and it's pretty frustrating.

    My recent long haul flight

My recent long haul flight was a disaster. First, my suitcase went missing, which was already a nightmare. But the worst part came when I tried to raise the issue with customer service. They just brushed me off and didn't seem to care at all. It really spoiled the start of my vacation, especially considering how much we spent on it. I can't believe Virgin partners with them. On the bright side, British Airways just gained a loyal customer, because I'll be flying with them from now on. I travel a lot and this was by far the worst customer service I've encountered with any airline. Absolutely appalling experience.

Flying with Delta was quite the ordeal. Our journey started with a frustrating 3-hour delay on our first flight, messing up all our plans. When we finally got rebooked for the connecting flight, we ended up stuck in the very back of the plane. It was freezing cold and super loud back there, making the 7-hour flight feel endless. Every time someone walked by or opened an overhead bin, it felt like the whole plane shook. It was uncomfortable and just not what we expected. With all the hassle and discomfort, I’m really thinking twice about booking with Delta again. It was a trip to remember, but not in a good way!

    Flying with my service dog

Flying with my service dog has been a nightmare. For months, I've been sending the same paperwork over and over, but they still claim they don't have it. The department that's supposed to handle this doesn’t even take phone calls, so I always end up talking to a random rep who just tells me to submit the documents again. Nobody can tell me when or if my paperwork will ever be approved. And the worst part? Even if I get everything sorted, there's no guarantee they'll actually let me fly with my dog at the airport. This whole experience has been so frustrating. Delta, you seriously need to get your act together.

    It’s just an expensive hassle

You know, flying used to be an adventure, but now it’s just an expensive hassle. Recently, I took a Delta flight and paid a hefty $1000 for a ticket. For that price, you'd expect at least decent service, right? Nope. The plane was cramped, dirty, and the whole experience felt chaotic and unsafe. It’s not just Delta either; it’s like the entire airline industry has lowered its standards. Honestly, I’d rather spend 10 extra hours on a train where I can move around, enjoy some Wi-Fi, and grab a coffee in the cafe car. Flying just isn’t worth the stress anymore. When will we start investing in better train travel?

    I'm really disappointed

So, I was planning this big honeymoon trip and got two Delta tickets, paying the full amount myself. Life took a turn, and after canceling the trip due to a divorce, I asked Delta to transfer the travel credit back to me. Seems simple, right? Nope. They told me only my ex could approve it, even though I paid for everything and we're no longer in touch. Now, I've got airline credit that's basically useless to me. It's frustrating that such a big airline can't show some flexibility or empathy. After flying with Delta for 7 years, I'm really disappointed and will definitely reconsider my future choices with them.

    Terrible airline

I can't believe how terrible this airline is. Checked in at Atlanta and the staff were unbelievably rude. The flight was even worse. They ran out of food and ignored us, even though we pressed the call button like 20 times just for a cup of tea. When they finally showed up, they dragged me to the back of the plane to ask what my problem was. Seriously? Paid for premium economy both ways but ended up in economy because it was "full". How does that even happen? This airline is the worst—completely unprofessional with rude staff who don't care at all. Do yourself a favor and avoid this airline at all costs.

They’ve definitely lost me as a customer

I recently had a pretty bad experience with Delta. I paid $39.99 for each of these so-called "priority seating" spots, expecting either bigger seats, bulkhead, or exit row. But when I boarded, they were just regular seats, nothing special at all. Felt totally scammed. After we landed, I reached out to customer service via text. The rep was super rude and dismissive, basically telling me I chose to buy them, so tough luck. Tried calling customer service too, hoping for better help, but nope, same lousy attitude. I’m shocked Delta allows such poor service. They’ve definitely lost me as a customer.

    Flying from FLL to LAX

Flying from FLL to LAX on November 18, 2024, at 7:40 was a disaster. Delta didn't assign seats until two days before, and there was no room for my carry-on since they overstuffed the bins with other people's luggage. When I spoke to Sergio about it, he was incredibly rude and even threatened to reassign me to another flight. I mentioned I had a business meeting, and he mocked me, repeating "business meeting ahh" to another staff member. It was such a disrespectful experience. After this, I'm done with Delta. I’d rather fly with Spirit, JetBlue, or Frontier than deal with that kind of treatment again.

Flying from Minnesota to Denmark was a letdown. We were stuck on the tarmac for an hour and a half. The delay felt like it was because they were more interested in filling every seat than sticking to the schedule. The flight attendants? Not much help either—just seemed like they didn’t care about anyone's time or comfort. And the pilot kept saying we’d take off in 5-10 minutes, but it turned into a never-ending loop of empty promises. I’ve flown over 300 times, and this was hands down one of the worst experiences. Man, I'm just baffled by Delta's latest antics. It's like ever since 9/11, airlines tossed good customer service out the window. Seriously, why do I have to take off my shoes at security? Who's ever hidden a weapon in their shoes? I can't recall a single instance. And now, they're harassing folks over silly stuff like T-shirt messages. I get that some words can be offensive, but isn't this America? Aren't we supposed to have freedom of expression? I support everyone's right to free speech, even if I don't like what's being said. Caught an early flight from Boston at 5 AM, so got to the airport at 3 AM. Not a single staff member in sight. By 3:30, they announced we had to switch lines, which was annoying since I was first in line before and now ended up behind a ton of people. An employee then told some of us to drop our bags outside. Got there, but that counter was closed too and only opened at 4 AM. They always say to arrive early for security and warn about last-minute luggage checks, but what's the point if they don't have enough staff to open the counters on time? It was really frustrating and a lousy start to my day.

So, I had a bit of a rough experience today with my flight. My bag somehow ended up on a different plane, which was annoying. But what really got to me was the customer service at the baggage area. The staff there were incredibly rude. None of them had name tags, so I couldn't even report the specific person who treated me poorly. I actually snapped a photo of one of them because she was so disrespectful. As a loyal Delta SkyMiles member, I expect much better treatment. The lack of courtesy and attention from the staff was really disappointing. Delta needs to step up their customer service game.

Flying back to the UK from Atlanta with Delta was quite an adventure. When I landed, my luggage was nowhere to be found. It did show up a few days later, so that was a relief. But my almost-new hard shell suitcase? Total disaster. The dents were so deep, you’d think it was run over by a truck! I tried filing a claim online, but the site kept rejecting the purchase date. No matter what I tried, it just wouldn’t work. So, I decided to file a complaint. I waited the full 14 days for a response, but nothing. I followed up, and still, nothing after another week. Flying with Delta was a complete disaster from start to finish. Our first flight from JFK to PHX was delayed for hours and then canceled, leaving us stranded with my child at JFK. Had to shell out almost $800 for a hotel and transport. The rebooking was a mess too—had to go to Newark, only to face more delays.
