I had a simple query about cleaning the invisible stick's salt residue after saltwater exposure. Unfortunately, it took weeks of back-and-forth messages to confirm that using Dawn Platinum Dish soap to remove all the salt residue was a safe method.     The camera is good, but the customer service is terrible. It took ages to get any response to my emails, and when they did, it was unclear. I bought an accessory that broke, and I ended up losing it and the selfie stick (almost lost the camera too). After 4 weeks of dealing with very annoying customer service, they offered me “half price shipping” saving me around £3… A defect left me £60-70 out of pocket.

    The products are great but the customer support is really bad. I spent around €1.000,- on my first order from their website. After 8 days, my heavy duty clamp stopped working. I had to send 10 emails and reply to more than 20 questions before they sent me a new one. (It took 14 days to fix) (the clamp costs €45,00 just so you know) I would suggest buying the products but their support team definitely needs some training like at GoPro..

    I got the insta360 X5 plus original accessories for my birthday. Took it on my bike for some easy off-road paths and after just 15 minutes the selfie stick broke! My new x5 dropped hard, leaving scratches on both lenses. Customer service quickly said the selfie stick isn’t made for action use 🤦🏼‍♂️. So, it’s an action camera that doesn’t handle action very good.

    My experience with Insta360 has been extremely frustrating. It all started when my Insta360 X3 camera was lost due to a broken selfie stick. I contacted their customer support in the hope of finding a reasonable solution. However, I was offered a mere 30% discount on a new camera. This was deeply disappointing, as it had taken me two months of careful saving to afford the X3. Things took a turn for the worse when I was informed that in order to purchase a new camera with the offered discount, I needed to have a PayPal account. As I didn't have a PayPal account and had no intention of creating one, this requirement was problematic. To make matters even more convoluted, they suggested a bank-to-bank wire transfer as an alternative. The unnecessarily complicated and cumbersome process left me with the impression that Insta360 was not particularly interested in retaining my business.

Their idea of fixing the issue was offering me a measly 30% refund for a camera I never received. To make it worse, they now want me to show them CCTV footage to prove I didn’t get it. Promised callbacks from a manager never happened, and even assurances of sending a replacement twice turned out to be empty promises.     You wouldn't believe what happened when I tried to order from Insta360. I thought I was getting an X5, but when I checked out, it switched to an X3, and I only realized it when the confirmation email hit my inbox. I canceled right away, but they insisted the package was already on its way. After weeks of back-and-forth emails and no prepaid return label, they told me I'd have to ship it back to Hong Kong myself, even though they supposedly have a EU warehouse. It cost me a fortune, and their customer service was nowhere to be found. They offered me peanuts for their mistake. I've seen others with the same issues on Reddit and Trustpilot. Do yourself a favor and go with DJI or GoPro instead.

    I ordered an Insta360 bundle directly from their website. The shipment arrived missing the additional battery that was included in the bundle. When I contacted Insta360 support, they repeatedly pushed me to contact Prime, even though Prime clearly stated they cannot help because Insta360 is the seller. I provided this information to Insta360 multiple times, yet they continued to avoid responsibility and refused to resolve the missing item. Instead of assisting their customer, they tried to make me mediate between two companies — something no customer should ever have to do. This has been one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I’ve had with any tech company.

    I picked up the Insta 380 X5 thinking it’d be perfect for my adventures, but it’s been a bit of a disaster. They say it’s waterproof up to 10m, but without a dive case, filming underwater is impossible. To make things worse, mine isn’t even waterproof. After a quick dip, it started acting all crazy, changing settings and turning on and off until the battery died. Dealing with their help center? Total headache. They keep asking for video proof and want me to do these complicated firmware updates from my laptop. I’ve tried everything they suggested, but nothing matches their tutorials. They just don’t get it. Honestly, should’ve gone with a GoPro. Cheaper and more reliable.

    After a decade with GoPro, we decided to give Insta a shot. We mainly use it for adrenaline-packed activities like skydiving and base jumping, but recently took it snorkeling in Fiji and Australia. Sadly, it conked out during one of our snorkeling sessions, just a month after the warranty expired. We reached out to Insta, arguing that such a device should last at least two years under normal use. They replied initially, but then went silent despite our follow-ups. Communication could’ve made this smoother. Disappointed, I'm switching back to GoPro. Never thought I'd leave a negative review, but after ten solid years with GoPro without a hitch, this was a letdown.
