    I was thinking about renting

I was thinking about renting my apartment on Airbnb since I'm buying a new home, and decided to take one of their surveys. I qualified for it and was almost done, like 92% through, when suddenly they kicked me out because I said I only earn 50K a year. I'm a single parent in Scotland, and that's a decent wage here, but I guess it wasn't good enough for them. If certain criteria are so important, they should ask those questions right at the beginning, not waste people's time. Felt totally exploited. Safe to say, they won't be getting my business as a host or a guest.

    Booking Tarka Lane in Woolacombe

Booking Tarka Lane in Woolacombe was a letdown from the start. Before even arriving, got hit with an unexpected £150 charge for the hot tub, on top of the £880 for four nights. Felt totally misled since the listing clearly showed a hot tub included. Pictures and everything made it seem like it was part of the deal. Really put a damper on the trip before it even began. Definitely going to pursue this further. Just a heads up for anyone looking to book here—double-check everything. This experience has been a real eye-opener. Be careful with Tarka Lane in Woolacombe!

    I had quite a rough

I had quite a rough time with Airbnb. They seem to always side with the hosts, no matter what. Their customer service takes forever to respond and when they do, it's just a generic apology. If you ever have issues with unfair charges or refunds, go straight to your credit card company. Airbnb did nothing when a host tried to blackmail me into leaving a 5-star review to get my money back. The property was in a really unsafe area, even though it was advertised as safe. Airbnb said they didn’t have any policy to deal with this. Renting from them feels like a gamble.

While browsing for a cozy spot to crash, I stumbled upon a promising listing, advertised as just $640. However, when the bill came, it had jumped to $778.35. What a shock! I reached out to the host, hoping for some clarity, but she was just as stumped as I was. So, I tried getting in touch with Airbnb for help, only to be met with silence—no one answered my calls or responded to my chat messages. Honestly, it felt like shouting into the void. This experience left a sour taste, and now I'm seriously reconsidering ever using Airbnb again. Such a frustrating ordeal!

Honestly, I've been around the block with over 50 Airbnbs globally. When a host nails it, it's fantastic. But here's the thing: a ton of those places have puffed-up reviews that just don't match reality. It's like, you show up expecting one thing, and bam, it's something else entirely. And trust me, when things go south and you try to flag it, your negative feedback seems to vanish into thin air. It's frustrating. Feels like the system is rigged, making it hard to trust what you're getting into. So, I'm pretty much done with Airbnb. Gonna look elsewhere for now.

    I had a terrible experience

I had a terrible experience with Airbnb. The fees are way too high for both hosts and guests. And their customer service? It’s like they don’t even exist. I’ve been trying to get compensation for some missing items and a deep clean since September. Some guests left my place in a disgusting state, with condoms and half-eaten meals everywhere. Airbnb just keeps dodging my claim with more questions and conditions, and now they’ve closed it altogether. I'm so frustrated. I’m done with Airbnb, there are other platforms out there that actually care about their users.

I booked this flat hoping for a nice stay, but it was a disaster. Cockroaches were everywhere, and the WiFi didn't work at all. There was even a hole in the door, which was quite unsettling. To top it off, a pot plant leaked some brown liquid all over the floor. I reached out to Airbnb support thinking they'd help, but they were useless. They kept asking for videos, which I sent, but then said it wasn't enough evidence. Clearly, Airbnb doesn't care about their customers and just wants to protect their hosts. This experience left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I spent weeks planning a Xmas 2025 family getaway and thought I'd found some great options on Airbnb. Lots of availability, so I felt hopeful. But then, every property I tried to book came back with a price more than double what's advertised! And many required a minimum 7-night stay. It's frustrating! If a price is listed, it should be honored when you book. This feels like false advertising and very misleading. Airbnb needs better guidelines to stop hosts from jacking up prices. It's making the whole process a nightmare. Not happy at all with this experience.

I really can't believe I trusted these guys for months. I host a small house in NW Florida and one of the guests from Airbnb left it in a terrible state. I asked for compensation, but after two weeks of dealing with customer service that barely spoke English, they gave me just 2% of what I asked for. It's ridiculous and honestly, this company is not reliable at all. I wouldn't trust them with anything. They just don't care about their hosts and it's clear to me now that they don't deserve any trust. Really disappointed and frustrated with the whole experience.

I booked an Airbnb for my wedding and out of nowhere, they canceled it, claiming I was the one who did it! They were so rude, blaming me directly and using my name in their messages. Then they had the nerve to close the case so I couldn't even reply. Now, I'm left without a place to stay for one of the most important days of my life. They really messed things up for me and didn't even bother to help fix the situation. I feel so frustrated and helpless. This experience has been a total disaster and has added unnecessary stress to what should be a joyful time.

    I had a rough time

I had a rough time with Airbnb recently. Booked a place, stayed there, everything seemed fine. But after I left, I got charged for damages I didn’t even cause. I mean, I was super careful. Reported everything to the staff as soon as I saw it, even took photos. Still ended up with a big bill. It’s really frustrating. If you’re gonna use Airbnb, make sure you document everything the moment you step in. It might save you from unexpected charges later. Be prepared, because you might end up paying for stuff you didn’t do. It’s a real headache dealing with this.

    I stayed at a place

I stayed at a place in Luton, thinking it would be a decent spot for a month. Paid a hefty £1300 for 30 days and it turned out to be a nightmare. The place was filthy, like a squat, and worst part – bed bugs! I spotted them right away and checked out immediately. Reached out to Airbnb, and they claimed they were "concerned." They offered me a measly £215 for my trouble, which was just insulting. I turned it down and they just closed the case. It's clear they don't care about their customers at all. This experience was beyond terrible. Avoid at all costs!

    frustrating time

As a host, I've been having a frustrating time with Airbnb's system. Settings keep changing on their own, and when I reached out to customer service, they insisted nothing was wrong. It felt like I was being gaslit. I blocked off several days last week, and the system reopened them twice! It even changed my cancellation policy without my consent. I had to take screenshots of my blocked days to keep track. We'll see if it changes again. This is really affecting my ability to manage my listings efficiently. Something needs to be done to fix these glitches.

I've been a loyal Airbnb user for ages, but man, things have really gone downhill. Used to be my go-to, but after my latest experience, I'm done. Their customer service is just plain awful now. It's like they don't even care anymore. I tried to resolve an issue, but the support I got was frustratingly useless. It's not the first time I've had problems, but this one was the last straw. I've switched my properties to VRBO and Booking, and when I travel, I'm looking elsewhere too. It's sad, really, because Airbnb used to be great. Now? Not worth the hassle.

    I booked a place

I booked a place through this company and it was a nightmare. The location wasn't even close to what was advertised, and I ended up miles away from where I thought I’d be. To make things worse, there was no wifi. The landlord actually told me to use the neighbor’s wifi! The property looked nothing like the photos, it was a complete bait and switch. And to top it all off, I had to wait an hour on the street for the landlord to finally send me the right address. Honestly, do yourself a favor and use booking instead. This experience was beyond frustrating.

We rented an apartment for 6 people in London for 3 nights, paying 2400€. When we arrived, we had to wait an extra hour to get in. The kitchen was a joke – no coffee machine, and only 5 of everything: glasses, mugs, small plates, and large plates. There was just one small pan and a tiny stove. No basic stuff like pepper or salt. Not even a wine glass or a bottle of water. When we complained, Airbnb just said the host only had to provide toilet paper, soap, towels, pillows, and linens. For what we paid, we expected way more. It felt pretty disappointing.

I booked a trip and, somehow, it got linked to my friend's account instead of mine. It's been a complete mess trying to fix it. We've been stuck on the phone for over three hours now, just trying to get someone who can help us out. The person we're talking to is in another country, and it's so hard to understand them. It's like we're going in circles, and nothing's getting resolved. I just wanted a simple booking, but this has turned into a huge hassle. It shouldn’t be this complicated. Hoping we can get it sorted soon because this is just frustrating.

I booked what was supposed to be a luxury apartment in Dartford, but boy was I in for a surprise. The moment I walked in, I was hit by a strong smell of damp and mould. The furniture looked ancient and filthy. The bed linen? Don’t even get me started—scruffy and dirty. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I couldn’t believe my eyes. We couldn’t stay there; it was just impossible. Left right away and found a hotel instead. Now I’m stuck trying to get a refund, but it’s like they’ve made it a maze to complain. Never going back there, that’s for sure.

When I got to my Airbnb in LA, it was a disaster. Flies everywhere, smelled awful. I called Airbnb and they told me to book another place. So I did, but instead of refunding my card, they gave me credit. A year later, that credit was about to expire and they barely let me extend it. Then, they wouldn't let me use it for smaller bookings—if I booked something cheaper, I'd lose the extra credit. It's ridiculous. They couldn't provide the service, so why not just refund my card?
