We traveled from Chau Doc to Cai Be with another couple after spending 3 weeks exploring Vietnam, including Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Dalat, and Saigon. This was certainly a highlight of the entire journey! Given that we are a couple who have spent 4 decades living and working in different parts of Africa, including the Congo in the 80s, we didn't expect much. The trip really impressed us. The crew was amazing, caring, respectful, and very friendly. Our guide, Duy, had great English, was super flexible, and had a nice sense of humor. The excursions off the boat were fun, especially the pottery-making, rice, and alcohol distillation tours. The Sampan was very comfortable, tidy, and well-stocked. Drinks were offered, and meals were delicious, mainly Vietnamese food, but breakfast included eggs, ham/sausages, veggies, yogurt, fruit, juice, tea, and coffee, all served in the boat’s dining room. The Wifi was a little unstable, and it could get warm at times. The rooms all had fans and good amenities. We will definitely suggest this trip to friends and family!

I recently went on a 2-night Mekong river cruise and I have to say it was definitely one of the best parts of our 3 weeks in Vietnam. The boat, the crew, and our guide, Swing, were all very good. It was amazing to be off the beaten path, experiencing the way of life in the delta, seeing both the difficulties and the beauty of the area. The food was an adventure, offering us dishes we wouldn't usually try, but we ended up enjoying everything. Swing’s insights into life in the delta and her guidance during small trips with locals who were eager to share their stories without asking for anything in return was very nice. Also, it was a great change to have a female guide, as we got to hear a different viewpoint. We opted for a sampan with air conditioning, which was a smart choice given the warm temperatures that didn’t dip below 25°C. In the end, we just wished the cruise had been longer and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Just finished a 2-night Mekong river cruise, and I must say it was the best part of our 3 weeks in Vietnam. The boat, crew, and our guide named Swing were all amazing. Being away from the usual tourist spots and witnessing daily life in the delta, with all its struggles and beauty, felt like a real privilege. The food pushed us to try things we wouldn't normally pick but we ended up enjoying every bite. Swing’s insights into delta life were invaluable, and the chance to meet locals who were happy to share their stories without expecting anything in return was refreshing. Plus, Swing being female gave us a different, interesting perspective. We booked a sampan with AC, which was a great choice since the temperatures at night never dropped below 25 degrees. In the end, we just wished the cruise lasted longer and would recommend it to anyone.

We had a nice time on the private Sampan. It was a special trip for our honeymoon. The guide was good. Staff were very attenttive. It's a small boat, but we enjoyed our private moments on it. The itinerary was interesting. We visited villages along the river bank. We were sad to see a lot of trash. I hope the local authority can do something to help local tourism.

We arrived in Chaudoc Vietnam by fast boat from Phnom Penh and then enjoyed a Mekong cruise from Chaudoc to Caibe over 3 days. Enjoyed this private sampan journey. The guide was very good. The crew and staff were nice. We would choose this private sampan over larger cruises.

Victoria Cruises Line offers a pleasant experience overall. The staff is friendly and the ship is generally comfortable. However, some areas could use a little more attention to detail.
