The photo that did it
I tapped a video and saw a shy tail thump. That was it. I sent the application with sweaty hands and happy tears.

Easy way to find rescues
I felt confident narrowing to reputable groups near me. Photos, filters, and alerts worked. A practical path to adoption.

Found our cat fast
Creating an Adopter Profile was quick and made contacting shelters simpler. The app’s alerts were clutch. Navigation is clean and photos help a lot. We matched in a week.

Great search, mixed listings
Filters helped us narrow to senior dogs nearby. A few posts were outdated, but alerts tipped us to a new match. The rescue’s process took time and several references. In the end, Petfinder made it easier to find the right rescue to contact.

Filters made it feel possible
Tuning breed, age, and distance took the overwhelm down. Seeing those little faces pop up near me hit hard. I felt ready to adopt.

I believe Petfinder is a rip off!
I believe Petfinder is a rip off! I tried to get in touch with the shelter that had the cat I liked, but after several attempts, I never got a response! Then, I asked Petfinder twice to check if the cat was still available. The first time they asked me to pay $1, and the second time they wanted $5 just to check if the cat was still there, but I didn't pay either. Long story short, I’m going to search for a real shelter to adopt from!

I reached out and filled out an application for a lovely dog that seemed like she would be a great match for me, especially since I have a 3-bedroom house with a fenced backyard and no other pets or kids. I was so disappointed when, after waiting and hearing nothing back, I saw her picture online and found out she was adopted the very next day. I was at work and couldn’t hold back the tears.

For a long time, I tried adopting a dog instead of buying one.
For a long time, I tried adopting a dog instead of buying one. In the end, I bought a puppy from a private seller. I noticed the same dogs in the shelters for months, but whenever I tried to adopt, they either didn’t reply or made the process so complicated, it felt like I had to jump through endless hoops to adopt.

It seems like you can't get accurate locations of your area.
It seems like you can't get accurate locations of your area. When you try to adjust or change the area they give you, it doesn’t work, and you can’t pick the region you want to explore. If you ask them for a rescue or shelter and don't find anything close, they send you to a completely different place, far away from where you are (hundreds of miles). I really feel bad for people who rely on them to find homes for the pets they are helping.

They could call it PET SCAM ZONE.
They could call it PET SCAM ZONE. What's the point of this site anyway? It's definitely not about helping animals find homes. It seems like most of the animals listed are fake. If you browse long enough, you’ll see the same pets, posted by different rescues, but with different names. And even though the ad says the animal is nearby, you’ll discover at the bottom that they’re actually in another state, like Texas or Florida. Big waste of time, don’t get tricked.
