HWA sent a technician who charged
by Lum

HWA sent a technician who charged us $600 instead of the expected $45 service fee. When he inspected the refrigerator, he said we could either pay the $600 fee and he would leave, or we could proceed with the repair and have the fee counted towards the repair cost. However, Howe Warranty of America denied our claim because the compressor, which needed replacement, was considered part of the closed system not covered by the warranty. We feel deceived by HWA because we only learned about the compressor issue from the technician and ended up paying the hefty service fee. This is an honest account of our experience. Prospective customers should be aware of these issues before deciding to invest in HWA.

In short, dealing with HWA was a prolonged
by Joel Wolbert

In short, dealing with HWA was a prolonged hassle, taking two months to resolve my dishwasher issue during the holidays. Despite my premium payments totaling over $6000 in 7 years, they only offered a fraction of the replacement cost, leaving me dissatisfied. The email claiming a system replacement turned out to be misleading, and the $591 payout, their maximum for a dishwasher, felt inadequate. The case manager's unyielding stance, reluctance to escalate my concerns, and the restrictive Lowe's gift card payment added to the overall negative experience. Considering my ordeal, I advise against investing in HWA and question the efficacy of other home warranty companies.

I encountered a problem with a covered
by Keven Casey

I encountered a problem with a covered appliance and initiated a claim on the HWA website. The process was smooth, receiving a prompt notification about the progressing claim. The following day, a local service provider reached out, and we scheduled a convenient time. The technician arrived within the agreed-upon window and efficiently replaced the faulty appliance. HWA proved reliable in resolving my issue promptly.

I had a positive experience
by Leon Pot

I had a positive experience with HWA as they promptly assigned a company to address my issue, and the service provider was punctual. However, I'm not giving HWA a 5-star rating because there was a delay in getting approval for the work, which extended the time it took to complete the service. This resulted in the company having to return for a follow-up visit.

This was my third
by George

This was my third or fourth claim, and on each occasion, the representative on the phone was courteous, helpful, and straightforward in listening to my situation, processing the request, providing me with feedback (whether it was approved or declined), and outlining the expectations for the next steps. In almost every case, the claims were resolved within 24 hours.

I initiated a claim for an electrical problem
by CA

I initiated a claim for an electrical problem, and the technician assessed it. However, there was a miscommunication, and I ended up paying $150 out of pocket for the repair. Later, I received an email stating the claim was approved. I reached out to HWA for clarification but haven't received a response to date. This experience has been somewhat frustrating due to the communication breakdown.

I faced a frustrating situation with this company
by CL

I faced a frustrating situation with this company. My range and oven had a malfunctioning electronic panel, and the repairman, who was great, determined that a new panel was needed. However, I received an email stating the repair was denied, and the case manager suggested it was my fault, citing stuck buttons, which was not the issue. It's disheartening that appliance insurance didn't cover the problem. I canceled my diamond plan and cannot recommend this company, as it feels like a scam.
