AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! Spent more than 4 hours waiting for your car after checking in online and rebooking, only to be faced with the rudest staff ever. They laughed when asked about car availability, talked down to us, and then charged an extra $300 for adding my spouse, even though we were told it was free months ago. When we finally got a car, it failed inspection due to a missing seat belt and no windscreen wiper. Had to return to the airport to get a new car, which took over an hour. Horrible service and terrible car condition. DO NOT USE.

If you drive on toll roads with a Dollar rental car, you’ll pay a $9.99 service fee FOR EVERY DAY you use these roads, in ADDITION TO the actual toll amounts. Paying the tolls directly is difficult because, as many drivers know, toll agencies can take ages to process them. Once Dollar's "Plate Pass" system is in effect, you face annoying fees! I spent about $15 on tolls, but Plate Pass has charged me $40 in service fees for something I could have done myself for free.

We arrived in Hartford, Connecticut at the end of June. The African American lady at the counter was very nice and helped us get the car we wanted quickly and easily. She was very good at her job. When we returned the car, Randy was also quick and helpful, and he was friendly and professional too. I would definetly use their services again.

I attempted to check in online

I attempted to check in online, but Dollar's site was down and wouldn’t let me choose my car, forcing me to stand in line for help. The representative told me, "yeah, we are aware the site is down." Also, the car lacked a spare tire and jack. I have AAA, but still, there ought to be a spare and jack!

Our experience with Dollar was quite good overall

Our experience with Dollar was quite good overall. They recommended an upgrade to a car with GPS, which was crucial for us. Changing the car due to a cracked windshield took some time to get through to Dollar on the phone, but after that, they handled the incident well.
