I use to read into a recorder
by Anonymous

I use to read into a recorder for nursing school. I spent any hours and lose sleep to pass my classes. I have just started back to school to finish my RN program and I am very thankful for Speechify.

I tried the 3-Day Free Trial.
by Francisca

I tried the 3-Day Free Trial. I liked it but not fully convinced, German voices need improvement. Will keep an eye on its progress! Customer service was good, Mozzamil was helpful despite my poor English. Greetings from Germany!

The accidental purchase happened
by Arun

The accidental purchase happened during the trial, and I contacted Speechify for a refund. They quickly processed it within a week. Thanks to Speechify team for this. This sort of customer service is expected online when there's no direct interaction. Good work on the product too. I might subscribe in the future. Special thanks to Mike from the team for his help.

Although the app is decent and allows me
by Julie

Although the app is decent and allows me to listen to pdfs on my travels it's quite expensive. I did not know that it was an automatically rolled over subscription and now double the amount I paid last year has been taken out of my account. There was no response to my email after a few days and the support on the chat is no good either. I think it's pretty dishonest that they would do this and even though I like the app I'm feeling quite bitter about the £124 they have taken out of my account without my explicit agreement so I'm inclined to use another reader.

Using this service to bring
by Rj Kendall

Using this service to bring written future scenario texts to life. The versatility in different voices makes the scenarios come to life, convincing our stakeholders about strategizing for more sustainable futures.

Don't buy into the promos
by Ture Geithuus

Don't buy into the promos and the amazing things you see in the ads. First of all, they do a trial, and then they charge you something like 100 or 200 from your account without announcement. The setup stage takes over about an hour, and you can't skip it. You have to listen to different voices talking nonsense. All the voices are just gimmicks, and the quality is just not there. For example, if you try to use it to read books, it will guess each name or letter from the first sentence, so it's not good. Hard pass all the way.

I had a bad experience
by William Caudill

I had a bad experience with Speechify. I initiated a free trial and promptly canceled the subscription. However, I still ended up being charged for a full year. Despite numerous attempts to contact customer service, the responses were unhelpful and promised refunds were never processed. The customer service is incredibly poor, and the product did not live up to expectations. I strongly advise against using Speechify.

I'm delighted with my second
by Matthew Vann

I'm delighted with my second year of using Speechify Premium. As a naturally slow reader, Speechify has been a game-changer for making the most of my newspaper subscriptions and saving time when tackling lengthy online texts. The variety of voices to choose from is a great feature. I can't speak highly enough about how much it has helped me. Additionally, their customer service has been excellent—any issues I've had were resolved quickly.

Really great company. As a researcher
by Pablo

Really great company. As a researcher with ADHD, it has always been a battle to find quiet time for reading and writing, and their services that allow me to more directly listen to articles and books make a huge difference. The voices they offer are usually quite natural and easy to follow, and I appreciate the fact that there is a focus on tone, not just the voice itself. This allows me to use different voices for different types of documents. I gave them four stars for a few reasons. First, it would be great if there was better integration with other platforms like Android Auto, considering that many listen to their documents while commuting. At the moment, it's always a bit of a mission to get it to function seamlessly with Android Auto. So what I do is to open another app that is Android Auto compatible, play something, then pause it, then open their app and play a document from there. Another reason why I gave them four stars is that their service could be better in identifying other designed elements in documents, apart from certain headers and some citations. For instance, it often reads page numbers, headers, or footers randomly, and it usually struggles when documents are designed in columns. In any event, these are not major challenges with the service, and I see them more as areas that it could improve in the future. Really amazing company, and a game changer for me.

I initially signed up for a 3-day trial of the Speechify online app
by Justin Lavoie

I initially signed up for a 3-day trial of the Speechify online app, with the intention of canceling before the trial period ended. However, I encountered a significant issue during the cancellation process. When I tried to cancel, the cancellation window displayed a spinning loading wheel, which never resolved. Frustrated, I decided to delete my account, believing this would prevent any unwanted charges. Later, I created a new account using the same Google account, and I noticed that it was labeled as the "basic" version. I was content with this, assuming it was free. However, to my surprise, I was billed a hefty $189 for the premium version, which I never intended to purchase. I suspect that during the process of canceling my initial account, Speechify upgraded my new account and charged me after the 3-day trial. To address this issue, I contacted customer support, but despite their promise of a response time of less than 12 hours, it has been over 48 hours, and I have received no reply.

Speechify has been a lifesaver
by KG

Starting grad school in Los Angeles meant long hours spent driving, but Speechify has been a lifesaver. It's allowed me to turn my PDF textbooks into accessible audio while on the road. Of course, like any tech, I've encountered occasional uploading issues. That's where Speechify's online chat support shines. Quick responses and helpful assistance have made a real difference, helping me stay on track with my studies. It's a tool I'll continue to rely on throughout my academic journey. Thanks, Speechify!

Speechify has been a source of immense frustration
by naked alïen

Speechify has been a source of immense frustration. I initially paid for Gwyneth Paltrow's voice, but it was only accessible for a brief period, and it has since ceased to function entirely. Attempting to cancel my subscription has proven to be an arduous process, marked by continuous charges. I've found Weboutloud to be a far superior alternative to Speechify. My experience with Speechify has been deeply unsatisfactory, and I regret my choice.

I appreciate the helpfulness
by Terri L

I appreciate the helpfulness of the app for studying and the selection of different voices, but the lack of a place to enter coupon codes at checkout is frustrating. The fact that the company gave me a coupon code but then did not provide a way to use it is confusing and makes no sense. Despite reaching out to them twice via email, I did not receive a response. When I did get a reply through Whatsapp, it felt like they were more interested in trying to sell me English lessons rather than addressing my issue. The fact that they ignored my question when I declined their offer is not acceptable.

I had started a free trial
by Bryan O

I had started a free trial, but after only 2 days of not using the app, I decided to cancel it. However, to my surprise, I was charged 1007kr from my card. This is unacceptable, especially since I am a student with a reading disability and was hoping to use the app for my studies. Not only did the app not meet my requirements, but the price seems very high for what it offers.
