Aetna's prescription drug plan Part D for

Aetna's prescription drug plan Part D for 2025 has been a real let down. I was paying $9.90 a month for the 2024 plan, and I always got mail from them, which I read. But this time, they never told me about the big jump to $44.90 a month for 2025. I only found out when I got a surprising bill after open enrollment. I called Aetna several times, but their reps never took responsibility for not informing me. They also kept trying to send me to the SEP department, even though I clearly didn’t qualify. Now, I’m stuck paying until the next open enrollment period. I won’t ever choose Aetna again. Medicare suggests Wellcare, so I’ll be switching over to them in October.

I was diagnosed with a torn knee meniscus

I was diagnosed with a torn knee meniscus and my doctor recommended arthro surgery. After submitting an MRI, Aetna insisted that I go through 12 weeks of physical therapy before they would approve the surgery. I finished it last week. Then my doctor re-submitted everything, and now Aetna will only approve a knee replacement due to arthritis signs in the MRI. I nearly have full range of motion, with some mild discomfort at times. I had arthro on my other knee last year, and the MRI also showed signs of arthritis, but they approved the surgery without any issues. My doctor believes a knee replacement is not the right option for me, and I agree. Some of my friends who got knee replacements had to do way more than 12 weeks of PT to get them approved. We were misled, thinking 12 weeks of PT would be enough to approve arthro, but now they want to replace my knee, which will cost them more.

I had a terrible experience with their over-the-counter

I had a terrible experience with their over-the-counter debit card through Nations Benefits. I spent hours and hours on the phone with Aetna's customer service, and no one could really help me. It was a total waste of time. Aetna should be blamed for working with this company – I feel like the Nation's Benefits OTC debit card is just a trick to cheat older people. After so many calls trying to get their card to work, I finally gave up because it never properly did. This is the reason I switched away from Aetna and filed complaints to Medicare, BBB, and other review sites. Aetna also wasn't very clear about the health benefits they offer for seniors. I would only find out about some benefits after they were no longer available to me. But the worst problem by far was their tie-up with Nations Benefits.

This insurance company did not meet my expectations.

This insurance company did not meet my expectations. I had an issue with getting my payout, and when I reached out, I didn't get a proper explanation for the decision. Make sure to check reviews before choosing them. I would not suggest this company.

    The insurance company should not

The insurance company should not have the power to deny surgery suggested by a patient's doctor. They should stick to their role in insurance. This authority impacts the patient’s physical, emotional, and mental health.

I picked Aetna due to their list of gps

I picked Aetna due to their list of gps, dentists, and dental surgeons nearby. I am upset that NONE of these professionals actually take their insurance. Only one gp accepts it. They are not reliable.
