    We had a really nice time at this charming mountain

    We had a really nice time at this charming mountain condo! It’s in a great spot—calm and pretty, but still close to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober Mountain, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The condo was tidy, cozy, and had what we needed. Cooking was simple with the stocked kitchen, and the comfy living room with the fireplase and smart TV was nice after being out all day. The fast Wi-Fi, washer and dryer in the unit, and the balcony with pretty trees were also a plus. The area was peaceful and felt safe, and there was no trouble with parking. You could tell things were set up with care, and the host answered questions quick when needed. We’d tell others to stay here if they want a comfy, easy place in Gatlinburg. Can’t wait to return!

    I just booked a stay with Whimstay and I’m very pleased with the whole experience. I got great deals on quality places to stay, and the customer service was very good. I faced a minor problem while booking, and their team sorted it out quicker than any other vacation rental service I’ve used. The mix of great prices and excellent service makes Whimstay my top choice for quick trips. I recommend it.

    Nice and tidy apartment with great linens and bath items, plus easy key access and parking – all in my favorite calm Dupont area! But it was soooo cold when I got in; I ended up sleeping in my coat to stay warm. Also, the lights in the bedroom were way too bright; maybe dimmers or lower wattage would help. I was informed that the prices are raised to cover platform fees and wages.

    Booking went smoothly

    Booking went smoothly, and I got a separate email from GatherVacations with a document to fill out and sign, which I did right away. The next day, I got an email from Whimstay saying I needed to do the same thing. I contacted Gather, and they confirmed I had already completed the document. Whimstay should have known not to send the second email.

    Nice cozy place for us in Brooklyn NY. We faced one minor problem getting inside but everything was fine after that. Also, there are two 1/2 pretty steep stairs to handle each time going in or out. Parking might be a bit tricky too. Still, very well handled!

    After booking with Whimstay,

    After booking with Whimstay, I made a quick mistake regarding the guest limit, resulting in a stressful situation. Despite my immediate attempt to rectify the error, the company upheld their policy of charging a $60 cancellation fee, which they explained was standard practice except for rare cases. Even though they offered a $25 credit and a full refund, they insisted that the responsibility was mine to notice such details. This experience left me frustrated and disappointed. I won't be using Whimstay again and would suggest others book directly with property management companies to avoid similar situations.

    I reserved a house 2 months ahead.

    I reserved a house 2 months ahead. A week later, I asked to change dates by 1 day. They said they contacted the host Vacasa, but it's just generic emails saying it's not available. I booked directly with Vacasa and Vacasa canceled the Whimstay booking. Whimstay never refunded me; I had to ask with proof from Vacasa. Then they took a service fee. Oh, and once we got there that night, we saw live mice nests and they ate our food overnight. We thought it might be dormant, but the next day we saw more. We left and Vacasa refunded us. Whimstay still had issues and didn't want to refund the whole amount. Dealt with the same worker, Jennifer. She responded quickly and kept citing policies. I had to show a lot of proof to get some refund. Never booking through third parties again. Vacasa was great to deal with though.

    I haven’t checked in yet, but I paid for a three-day stay in Belize. This company tried twice to charge me for things I didn't approve. I called about it, and the manager said if it’s pending, don’t worry—it hasn’t gone through. She didn’t get that if I paid for something, why try to use my card, whether it goes through or not? That's fraud, it's my money. I didn’t approve you trying to take money from my credit card. She excused it saying if the money isn’t withdrawn from your account, it hasn’t happened. I told her I have proof, I can show you a snapshot. Would you like to see it? She didn’t want to see it or refund my money. Why would I want to stay where they steal from me and act like it's ok?

    Using Whimstay to list my properties was a big mistake. The sales rep made it seem like they vet guests, but this isn't true. They reached out on check-in day to cancel because he didn't have a high enough credit score. Why wasn't this found sooner? What will you do for lost income? Whimstay had no suggestions to cover this loss or calendar time. They said it's fine to host him, causing issues—he damaged things, smoked inside, gave us a bed bug scare. Whimstay did nothing to cover costs after filing a claim. They don't cover damages. After two bad experiences, I don't recommend them.

    I won't be using this service again.

    I won't be using this service again. Because of a problem on their site, I booked a reservation that I didn't want or need. I attempted to cancel right away, but Whimstay refused to let me do that. Instead, they suggested I purchase traveler's insurance to get my money back. After a long application process, I found out that they wouldn’t issue a refund. Whimstay did eventually assist me in getting a refund on the insurance, but I never received my money back for the 3 day reservatin.

    We stayed at Apple Blossom#10 on March 10 and 11th, and we were let down. The hot tub was in bad condition, so it had to be drained and cleaned, meaning we couldn’t use it the first night. The bed seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned, and the sheets were all wrinkled. The cabin itself needs some repairs. We haven't heard back from Whimstay or Eden Crest about any compensation.     The rented unit was not clean.

    The rented unit was not clean. Dirty plates were in the cupboard, roaches were found in the bedroom closet and under the kitchen sink. One couch was broken and couldn't be used. Floors were gritty and made feet dirty if barefoot. Dead bugs were in the kitchen light. You need your own dish soap and trash bags for the trashcan if full. Fridge was clean but door shelves were gone. Oven was clean, a/c cold, and bed comfy, hence 2 stars.

    The host was hard to reach when we needed help. The listing didn’t match reality. Outdoor areas were shared with others, but this wasn’t mentioned in the description. We couldn’t use the amenities properly because of the shared setup.
