This place is great! Ms. Crossley will listen to me babble for an hour and it's only $20! I couldn't pay anyone else in the world to do that for $20. I'd have to pay thousands for anyone else, plus they'd probably tell me to quite after the first ten minutes.

Headway has really helped my business

Headway has really helped my business grow by expanding my clientele and increasing my weekly bookings. Their help with paperwork and billing lets me concentrate on my clients. I like their support team and how fast they reply when I need help. The only problem I've faced is sometimes an insurance plan isn't accepted or there's a mix-up with copay, but the support team tries their best to help in these situations.

The company seems alright, but what bothers me is that I can't leave reviews for therapists or providers. I had a bad experience with a therapist through Headway. It was really bad - unethical and made me feel awful. It's not right that they let therapists like that work on their site without any way for clients to warn others.

Unlike other billing companies or providers I've engaged with, Headway consistently miscalculates my charges, deviating from the straightforward $25 co-pay that should apply. Engaging with their customer service has proven to be an unpleasant experience. The absence of a direct phone line and the unclear, possibly AI-generated or non-native English messages in the help center contribute to the overall dissatisfaction. The subpar performance of Headway as a company might even lead me to consider discontinuing my services with my mental health provider.

I strongly discourage considering this company. Steer clear. As a client of a healthcare professional newly enrolled with Headway, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The insistence on having a credit card on file, despite my insurance covering the full amount, was a major inconvenience. Despite assurances that I would only be charged for last-minute cancellations or missed appointments, my credit card was billed over $100, contradicting their own confirmation that I owed nothing. Attempts to rectify the situation through emails were met with disregard. The provider affirmed that I did not owe anything, yet Headway showed no interest in addressing the erroneous charge. Immediate action on my part involved disputing the charge with my credit card company. Their response to my email only assured me of a $0 charge for future appointments, a statement I find hard to trust given their recent mishandling of billing. It appears that their modus operandi involves overcharging customers, potentially capitalizing on interest, and leaving clients to endure a protracted refund process. Adding insult to injury, they lure in new providers with a $250 incentive, contributing to the perception of a dubious scheme. My advice is to run away from this unscrupulous company and refrain from divulging any payment information. It's a shame they operate in such a manner.

When I suggested providing just the routing number for deposits, my communication was abruptly cut off. Despite multiple follow-up emails, there was no response. Insisting on sensitive login details raised serious concerns about scam security practices. It prompted me to withdraw from any further association with the company.

In 2022, I encountered billing issues with Headway, as they miscalculated my co-pay for counseling sessions, resulting in a $1200 loss for them. Despite my switch to cash payments, contacting customer service was challenging, with limited responsiveness. Recently, after resuming services with Headway through an in-network insurance plan, they again miscalculated my co-pay, claiming $85 owed per session. Despite inquiries and escalations, the billing problem persists, causing frustration, financial strain, and even session cancellations. Headway's ongoing incompetence in handling insurance matters hinders mental health access and underscores the need for a more efficient customer service and billing department.

While I've been with CAQH for years, sharing my username and password feels unnecessary. Headway should explore alternative vetting methods, aligning with industry standards to alleviate concerns about security. Is anyone else uneasy about divulging login details?

The company allows you to make appointments even when the provider is not available, and this has happened twice. The provider mentioned that she checks messages when she has a chance. I do not recommend Andrecia Spaulding. I sent an email to the support team on 11/14/2023 but have not received a response back.

I ended up with more

I ended up with more stress than I had to begin with, and added anxiety to that. I tried this platform and Talkspace (which was even worse) because my insurance recommended them in their program. Unfortunately, these platforms are full of so-called half-professional providers with barely any experience who never respond nor show up. To make matters worse, you cannot cancel when they don't show after 30 minutes, or they will charge you $75 for that. Now, I have to take time out of my busy day to schedule sessions that never happened, and I need to see a real professional to vent about this platform and its poor service. I do not recommend it; it seems like they prioritize the provider and not the client. It's best to go to a real professional in person. Lesson learned.
