We rented through Orbitz.

We rented through Orbitz. At rental counter, busy. Quickly did paperwork. Later, saw added collision insurance. Bill twice quoted. Didn't ask us. Called to remove, refused. Orbitz couldn't help.

Arrived in Denver after a long flight

Arrived in Denver after a long flight from the UK. Waited for an hour and a half in the rental office with about 40 other customers in a long line. Finally reached the desk (we had already booked online and paid for extra insurance) only to be informed that we hadn't paid for full insurance coverage - that choice wasn't apparently offered online. They said if we wanted it, it would be an extra $15 a day. We felt pressured but had to agree to pay. Very unpleasant experience.

This company is a total disappointment. We thought we were getting a good deal renting a car for a day, but boy, were we wrong. They slapped us with so many extra charges it felt like a scam. We agreed to the base rate of $35, but then they piled on extra fees left and right. There was the insurance, tolls, and some other mysterious charges we didn't even understand. By the time they were done, we ended up paying a whopping $137 for just one day! To add insult to injury, we had to trek miles to get to their rental location. We learned our lesson the hard way. We'll stick with Hertz next time, where we paid less for two days and didn't feel like we were being swindled. Unless you've got cash to burn, steer clear of this company.

Advantage closed earlier than scheduled, and the customer service manager Nicolas informed us that it was due to all their cars being rented out before our plane arrived. Despite having no available cars, they imposed a fee for not canceling our reservation. Numerous attempts to contact them went unanswered as their staff had already been sent home. This left us stranded at the airport with no alternatives, creating a sense of betrayal and concern, especially with an early meeting the next day and a 2-hour drive ahead. Subsequently, we opted for Sixt rental car and found them to be a more reliable company. Multiple reviews highlighting Advantage's questionable practices suggest a pattern of customer dissatisfaction. If you've experienced similar issues, it may be advisable to contact the attorney general of your state promptly.

My experience with Advantage

My experience with Advantage was absolutely terrible! I rented a car from them and was promised a full-size Toyota Camry for $22 a day, but was given a scratched up Nissan Altima instead. To make matters worse, there was no windshield wiper fluid and they didn't bother to mention it. When they asked me to inspect the car for damage, I was more focused on looking for rips and burns, and didn't see the chip in the window. When my wife called to report it, we were treated poorly by the customer service woman who basically said it was our fault for not writing it down. And to top it off, when we returned the car, we were charged an extra $850 for the chip that Safelight could have easily repaired for a fraction of the cost. This company is clearly trying to scam their customers and I will not stand for it. I will be putting a stop on my credit card and never renting from them again.

I definitely would not want to do business with this company. It seems like they have a long history of bad reviews, and I wouldn't want to risk having a similar experience. The fact that they advertise cheap prices but end up charging triple the amount is a huge red flag. And the fact that they took the customer's security deposit without a valid reason is simply unacceptable.
