Hold confused my bank

Saw the first installment plus a big pending hold. Support clarified it releases after reauthorization cycles. Next statement looked normal. Clear, if a bit nerve wracking.

Used Splitit at checkout for a bike trainer. Setup took seconds with my existing card and the plan showed clearly in the portal. First charge posted as expected.

I appreciate that they provide 0% financing

I appreciate that they provide 0% financing for 12 months using my credit card. It really helps when buying pricier items and paying off my card monthly. It saves me from high interest fees, which is a big help, and encourages me to make a purchase.

I don't really see the point and won't

I don't really see the point and won't try again since I don't use pay by instalment. I thought it might help with delivery speed, but it didn't seem to. The deliveries were as usual. Cheers

The company needs to get their e-mail stuff right. They should send one to remind me about when payments are due, another with reports every week or month, and one more to tell me a day before they take money from my card.

Upon receiving my order, I discovered I was charged again. The inconvenience and lack of clarity in the payment process make me hesitant to use the system again. Resolving a small discrepancy like this shouldn't be a hassle, but it was, and it reflects poorly on the company's overall efficiency.

Paying in 4 payments but taking the whole amount? Kind of defeats the purpose of paying in 4 installments.

Very simple to spread the cost

Very simple to spread the cost with no interest. When purchasing an item where there is an option to pay over a period of time at no extra cost I will always take that option. Splitit makes the experience very easy as payments are taken monthly from your credit card.

Keeping the full amount

Keeping the full amount of payment on hold while still processing monthly payments on top of the hold defeats the purpose of the service.

I'm deeply dissatisfied with my recent experience. I willingly entered into a 6-month payment plan, opting to use my credit card for the convenience of monthly installments. However, what ensued was far from what I expected. Instead of spreading the payments over the agreed-upon timeframe, the entire amount was withdrawn upfront, significantly reducing my available credit. This unforeseen development has thrown a wrench into my financial plans, hindering my ability to make other essential payments using the same credit card in the coming weeks. I had assumed that a payment plan would mean monthly deductions, allowing me to manage my finances more effectively. Unfortunately, this process has now created a bottleneck, making me question the wisdom of choosing this option in the first place. The lack of communication regarding this practice has left me feeling frustrated and misled. I wish I had been better informed about the implications of this payment plan, as undoing it is now beyond my control. This experience has been a letdown, to say the least.
