This was my first time in dealing with a packing/shipping company to pickup and deliver a piece of antique furniture (a buffet table) from Vancouver to NE Connecticut. The person we purchased the furniture from in Vancouver recommended your company. The communication was easy and uncomplicated. I was given clear instructions of what was required of me in order to pickup the piece, pack it, the customs forms I needed to complete and an update on the delivery at every step of the way. When it came time to set up the delivery, that was easy as well. The driver who unloaded the crate was very friendly and dropped it off as close to the porch as possible on the driveway. When we unboxed the crate, we could tell that extra care was taken by the way the furniture was carefuly packed. There was a mirror which we were afraid it might break and the way the crate was packed, there was no way the mirror would get damaged. The estimate was probably more than the price we paid for the furniture but it was worth paying someone who took special care of it and we're glad we did. It was well worth it to us for peace of mind. Thank you again.

Several years ago my mother used Ship Smart to ship me a dining room table and sideboard. The pieces arrived and were packed incredibly well as if they were being sent by a museum. So when my mother passed away and I needed to ship more of her furniture a thousand miles away, I knew to call Ship Smart. I cannot even begin to tell you how great the communication was - they answered calls, emails and kept me posted on my shipment. When the furniture arrived, it was packed expertly and every item was in impeccable condition. Ship Smart also followed up to make sure every item had arrived. At a time when I was so incredibly upset over the loss of my mother, the employees at Ship Smart were courteous and professional. My mind was totally at ease knowing her belongings were in good hands.

Your company is amazing! From my very first interaction on the phone with your service rep, the great experience started. Quick, effective, pleasant, smooth service. I had to move my parents from NY to my home in VA and had to arrange everything during a week-long visit to help my mom care for my dad, who had a bad fall. I was connected with your company, boxes picked up, all within the same week of my visit. The great service continued when I was contacted to arrange delivery of my boxes to their new home. The delivery team were all awesome!!! I can't thank your company enough for making a tough situation very simple. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. What you do day in and day out is very much appreciated.

I had a terrible experience with them, and I was left feeling disappointed in every aspect. While they were quick to respond to my questions via email, they didn't take any responsibility for the issues that arose. It felt like a constant bait and switch, from the unexpected price increase after they already had my items to delivering them in a broken condition. And to top it off, the insurance I purchased from them didn't even cover the damages. It's a shame because I had provided them with a detailed list of my items and expected a smooth and problem-free process. But instead, I was left feeling frustrated and ripped off.

After sharing the essential move details, I anticipated a timely estimate but received none by the promised time. Follow-up calls yielded excuses about awaiting a warehouse update. Despite reassurances, the estimate never arrived. Frustrated, I explored a competitor and swiftly secured a compelling estimate, significantly more economical than the elusive one promised by this company. While they may have eventually proven competitive, their inefficiency and unfulfilled promises led me to opt for a more reliable alternative.

Customer service appeared stretched thin. Initial conversation was okay. Shared details about the move and pickup/delivery addresses. Promised an estimate either that afternoon or the next morning. Waited until 1 pm the following day with no update. Called again and was told they were waiting on the warehouse for a quote. Promised an email update soon. Almost 12 hours later, still nothing. Tried a rival shipping company, got a great estimate in less than an hour, at less than half the cost predicted by this company. They might be competitive when the actual estimate arrives, but I never got one.

Extremely disappointed with the overall service provided by ShipSmart. The constant delays and lack of communication were frustrating, coupled with unexpected changes in costs and charges. The handling of my shipment by FedEx Freight was poorly coordinated, leaving me with an unforeseen bill. The promised communication from the movers during the storage unit process was non-existent. To top it off, the final invoice was double the initial quote, catching me off guard. This experience was far from satisfactory, and I won't consider using their services in the future.

Items not water-damaged suffered bends, dirt, and stains. Opt for smaller, accountable moving companies to avoid outsourcing pitfalls. ShipSmart's performance is far from satisfactory. Although some compensation was eventually received, the agonizing process took just shy of a year.
