    As newcomers to Canada

As newcomers to Canada, our experience with this company has been overwhelmingly positive. They efficiently facilitated our setup, consistently upgraded our package, and remarkably, reduced our monthly costs twice. While acknowledging that perfection is elusive, our experience with Oxio leans significantly towards the positive end of the spectrum. It's important to note that while there might be valid one-star reviews, our personal encounter has been nothing short of brilliant.

As someone new to BC, I think OXIO

As someone new to BC, I think OXIO is a solid internet provider compared to others in the area. The service quality matches the price well. Customer support is remote but still helpful through chat. They offer a referral program where you get a code when you sign up, giving both you and the person who referred you some free months of service. If you're interested, you can use my referral code: RNW763W.

I used to be with Shaw but moved to Oxio because the price was a lot better and there's no contract to worry about. The equipment arrived as expected and setting it up was pretty easy. The speed and reliability seem better than Shaw, likely because Oxio gave me a more modern modem and router at no extra cost. Plus, you can get the first month free if you use a code (R4X3AX2) when you sign up

I’m in Southern Alberta and used to be with Shaw. Changed to Oxio for its cheaper rates and no contract. Got the equipment as stated and activation was smooth. I notice the service is faster and more reliable than Shaw, likely thanks to the newer modem and router Oxio provided free. Use this code for a free first month: RGF3MGK

I’ve been using this service for a year

I’ve been using this service for a year, and I’m happy with it. The technician showed up on time and did a good job. I followed the instructions they provided, and I got online without any issues. The price is also very reasonable for the service I’m getting. I would definitely recommend it to others.

One of the rare companies I’ve dealt with that actually helped us when money problems came up, and the speeds are good for what you pay. Had some trouble for a few days because of broken supply lines nearby, and they gave us credit for the downtime without any hassle.

For basic to intermediate usage, I reckon it's spot-on. I can stream Netflix, YouTube, and others without any problems. I can also make international calls on WhatsApp and Google meeting without any issue. For the price, it's a good deal.

I've had my fair share of experiences with internet service providers

I've had my fair share of experiences with internet service providers in the Vancouver area, and Oxio has truly stood out. One of the most significant advantages is the absence of a long-term contract. This flexibility allows you to switch services hassle-free if you ever find yourself dissatisfied, demonstrating Oxio's confidence in their offering. Furthermore, my interaction with their customer service was top-notch. I reached out via text message, and they responded within minutes, promptly resolving my query. The absence of any equipment deposit is a bonus. They provide gear without any additional fees, and the equipment is in pristine condition. Overall, Oxio has been a refreshing change in the world of internet service providers. I wholeheartedly recommend giving them a try; you won't be disappointed. Their customer-centric approach and high-quality service are truly commendable.

    The service is fairly steady

The service is fairly steady, but about once a month, I notice a speed drop on my TV for a minute or so before it returns to normal (that’s why I didn't give it a full 5 stars). Our computer, phones, and tablets have never had any issues. Maybe choosing a higher speed could fix this. Still, this small glitch isn’t a huge problem for me considering the great deal OXIO provides: no extra costs (no contract, no cancellation fee, or connection fee). They also don’t charge for sending the equipment. We set it up and activated it ourselves without needing a service person to come over. Plus, the first month is free if you use a code (REJ7WM4) when signing up. In short: it's not perfect, but a very good choice for a low-priced and mostly reliable internet service.

The price is definitely good, and when it's working, it's fast! But it does stop working several times a week, and I need to unplug and replug it, which is annoying. I'm the only one using it, but I run a server at home for my software, so frequent internet outages really disrupt my work. Now I have to keep my server elsewhere because I can't rely on my internet, which is too bad. However, if you don't mind frequent outages, the price makes it okay.

I’m writing this review with some hesitation but feel

I’m writing this review with some hesitation but feel I have to share my experience with Oxio. For two years, everything was fine with no problems. However, about two weeks ago, my connection started dropping on all devices. The wifi would cut out randomly, sometimes every few minutes, and it took many tries to get it back. This was really bad when trying to watch a hockey or baseball game. Customer support didn’t help at all. Over several days, they replaced the modem and the router, but nothing improved. Then they said there was a problem with the line. That turned out to be false because the Cogeco technician checked and said the line was fine. Oxio didn’t offer any further help and seemed uninterested. I asked for a credit for the lost service time, but they said no. That was enough for me. I’ve switched to Netcrawler and haven’t had any trouble yet. 🤞

We have used Oxio for 18 months so far.

We have used Oxio for 18 months so far. The first year, the service was normal. People were happy. But then the service got worse and worse. Now the service drops over 20 times a day. Their solutions and answers stopped working a long time ago. Swapping cable ends and replacing their router did not help. They keep giving the same answers that don’t fix anything.

    Experiencing service disruptions

Experiencing service disruptions has been a frustrating ordeal. Attempts to communicate with the company have proven challenging, as the absence of direct human contact and reliance on SMS or Messenger has hindered effective problem resolution. The company's request for customers to undertake troubleshooting tasks and provide setup pictures before sending a technician adds an extra layer of complexity to the support process. Registering a complaint required a persistent effort over an entire day, highlighting a concerning lack of responsiveness. The subsequent technician visit, which determined the lines were ostensibly fine, didn't result in a lasting solution. The recurrence of service interruptions, shortly after a temporary fix, persisted for an entire week. As the service remains fully down on the following Friday, the customer is once again burdened with the task of performing diagnostic tasks and sharing images to facilitate issue resolution. This ongoing cycle of downtime and customer-driven troubleshooting points to a need for the company to address these systemic issues promptly and comprehensively.

When the package arrived, I noticed that the type-C

When the package arrived, I noticed that the type-C cable included was completely useless, so I had to use one of my own to get the eero device working. We tried many times but could not connect to the internet. When I contacted the company (they only offer text support, no phone calls), I was advised to replace the yellow LAN cable too. I believe they should have provided cables that actually functioned! A tech visit was arranged, but no one came or called. I reached out again, and they told me they would check on it for me, but I might need to set up another appointment. I waited at home for hours to make sure I was available, yet it seems they couldn't do the same.

Terrible internet service we have experienced!

Terrible internet service we have experienced! It disconnects several times a day, and we’re hard-wired, so it’s not a wifi problem. The customer service is also laughable. There’s no proper support line—you have to text or message them on Facebook… very professional.🙄 The only time I notice anyone praising them is when they hand out codes. Those people get a free month of this poor, cheap internet whenever someone uses their code! Haha. Not for me… I’m cancelling this junk!

Their network has been losing signal in western

Their network has been losing signal in western Canada since Oct 10, 2024, and it has not been fixed as I write this. It only lasts for an hour before dropping. If you enjoy gaming, I strongly suggest staying away from this isp since my ms jumped from 50-90ms on regular servers. Large company's might charge higher, but they provide better services as these guys use their connection lines and reroute data in a confusing manner.

My internet kept cutting out for around 30 minutes...I restarted the modem several times. I sent a message to their "support" number and also contacted them via messenger. Their reply time is really slow. The issue with their "support" is that they don’t really help from what I experienced. I will be searching for another provider, and I suggest others avoid signing up with Oxio.

I had Telus fiber for two years

I had Telus fiber for two years before changing to oxio. I've had oxio for less than a month and already experiencing outages. All lights on the modem are locked on, and the white light on eero six indicates connection, but it's still garbage as it refuses to connect online. I'll be switching back. I wanted to give the other guys a shot, but their service is poor.

Hard to reach anyone when you really need some help. They don't have a phone line, only texting, and they don’t answer at night. Put that with slow speed and poor gear, it’s just not worth the cost. Better to pick a better grade provider and skip the hassel.
