As a contractor, this company is not supportive
As a contractor, this company is not supportive once they have received payment for your services.
Cons
- Right from the start, my agreed hourly rate was changed without notice. I had already turned down another job offer, so I felt forced to accept this position. - For several years, they avoided any conversations about salary adjustments, often hanging up on calls or ignoring emails. - They lied about the Green Card process. I spent time providing information to the attorney, only to find out that they were misleading me about the process and likely never started it. I wasted time waiting for a non-existent process, with their excuse being that they couldn’t adjust my salary even when the client increased my hourly rate. The law firm simply said, "You need to speak with your employer; we can't answer that question." Working as a contractor seems to be the only way to get started in the U.S., but they were dishonest. Once I realized they weren’t processing the Green Card, I began looking for another job and eventually left. They called and nearly yelled that "I was going to keep working for them, and they were my only option," but then tried to take it back. That was the only conversation we had after many attempts to discuss my visa and salary over the course of two years.
