I tried to consign some items.
by Anonymous

I tried to consign some items. Got a response first, asked if I want to confirm consigning, but no form yet. Replied, no response. Followed up again, no response. Used the online form AGAIN x2 and no response. That's 4 tries now, twice no response after initial reply. That's just not acceptabel and I'll grudgingly go through Goldin for video game related memorabilia which is meant to be Heritage's strength. An overall poor experience, especially as I'd be more than likely to buy items based on a good experience.

Much like many who have shared
by Ruth H

Much like many who have shared their experiences here, I too have attempted to submit pieces for either auction consideration or private sale through this company. Sadly, each of my submissions was turned down without any reason provided. This led me to suspect something wasn't right, and coming here only solidified my initial doubts. It's clear now that this company operates with less integrity than one would hope. I'm grateful to others for posting their insights, as it's helped confirm my suspicions about their trustworthiness.

I had a regrettable experience
by Filip Claes

I had a regrettable experience with them about two years ago when they sold me counterfeit currency. I unknowingly purchased graded currency, not having the knowledge to verify its authenticity. Later, when I sold it on eBay, the buyer sent it for grading, and it turned out to be counterfeit. Moreover, there are suspicions about shill bidders. After losing bids on several items, I noticed the exact same items reappearing in their auctions within the next two weeks. This raised concerns about shill bidding practices. We continued to monitor their auctions, and if items sold to online bidders, it suggested the possibility of shill bidding. We never got any deals, always having to pay full retail for whatever we "won" in their auctions. Be cautious, especially if shill bidding is in play.

The shipping and handling
by martha

The shipping and handling costs were exorbitant—a complete rip-off. I made a purchase once and have decided never to buy from them again.

My experience with Heritage Auctions has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing
by C.

My experience with Heritage Auctions has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. I purchased an auction item for nearly $2000, only to receive it in a significantly damaged condition, rendering it completely useless. The most concerning part is that Heritage Auctions was fully aware of the damage but failed to disclose it in the condition report or online description. In hindsight, it's clear they purposefully photographed the item to conceal its flaws. Upon reporting this issue, their initial response was a meager 10% refund "voucher," even though they admitted to misleading me about the item's condition. Unfortunately, this amount doesn't even cover the shipping costs, let alone the extensive restoration expenses quoted by an independent restorer. To add to my frustration, dealing with their customer service has been a never-ending cycle of emails, unhelpful responses, and prolonged back-and-forths, causing significant stress and anxiety. Despite informing them of my status as a substantial collectibles/prop collector, they showed no concern for their reputation. In conclusion, I have lost trust in Heritage Auctions, and I strongly advise others to exercise caution when dealing with them.
