Fluent is, without a doubt, the worst company we've ever had to deal with. Their customer service and resolution departments are dreadful. Each time we call, we're forced to endure 45 minutes or more of hold time. The representatives are condescending, unhelpful, and nearly impossible to understand. Our equipment has never functioned properly since installation. We've abandoned the doorbell altogether and switched to a much better company. The only solution offered is to pay for a technician to assess the issue, which, in my opinion, is poor business practice. After reading numerous reviews, it's clear this is a common problem. The company's communication is severely lacking. Payments are automatically drafted, yet there's no communication when a payment is missed for reasons unknown to me. We recently received a text message, two years after the supposed "missed payment," warning of collections if it isn't paid. There was no email or phone call at the time of the alleged missed payment. We tried to cancel the service after being told by the financial department that we were on a month-to-month contract. However, after being transferred, we were informed our contract had been renewed for another 3 years! There are no reminders sent about the impending contract expiration and renewal. This company is a scam! Do not use Fluent. Be wary of their contract termination clause, which requires a written termination request to be mailed 30 days before the contract expires. If I could, I would rate them zero stars.

Attempted to terminate my association

Attempted to terminate my association with the company after slightly over a year, owing to relocation and no longer requiring their services. I had initially paid for all the equipment upfront, only to be informed that I still had a two-year contractual commitment. Despite scrutinizing all my correspondences with Fluent, there was no indication of any contractual terms. Contrary to my belief that purchasing the equipment entailed no financing contract, this turned out not to be the case. I would advise avoiding this company, as both the equipment and service do not meet satisfactory standards.

I entered a five-year deal with Fluent, but somewhere in that span, they transferred my contract to API. Despite being billed monthly, I discovered a three-month billing lapse. Their mistake. Recently, my system went haywire, with incessant alarms and a flashing yellow CO indicator. Attempting to contact API through Fluent in Toronto on a Friday night proved futile—closed until Monday. The monitoring station was equally unhelpful, offering no after-hours technical support. Unimpressed, I'm considering moving my monitoring service elsewhere due to this subpar service experience.

Technical support representative Red listened, understood the issue, and resolved my problem even though it was an accounting matter. Definitely outside his area. The only Fluent associate who didn't treat me badly. Exellent communication skills, overall knowledge of the Fluent organization.

The installer and the lady

The installer and the lady I spoke with on the phone were great! However, the process of arranging and starting the appointment took months. Nobody returned my calls, and I had to switch representatives. It took from July to October 30 to finally get the installation completed.

My sales lady, Celeste was great. She explained everything and ensured I got the best deal. My installer, Matthew was the best technician ever. When I say he knew his stuff, he truly did. I’ll always reach out to him for security insight!
