by Ashley

I got tickets for Great America in Santa Clara, CA for my friend's birthday, but she got sick, so we had to delay. Fanshield asked for a doctor’s note proving she was sick. I sent the note at 9:11AM and got my money on Venmo at 10:32AM! That's great customer service!

FANSHIELD IS A SCAM!
by Anonymous

SCAM! Only pays in "specific" situations, as if life is that predictable! We had to move my son and daughter in law (who live three hours from us) within two days of closing on their house, which fell during the timeframe of the tickets I bought this insurance for. I was denied even though the realtor supplied a letter stating the situation. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

I had a good experience with Fanshield.
by Carrie R.

I had a good experience with Fanshield. I bought tickets a while back for a group of 5, spending over $600, and also got Fanshield protection. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans. I filed a claim on a Wednesday, submitted the required documents, and got a quick response asking for one more document. I sent it the same day. They said they'd get back to me in 5 days, but the next day, they emailed me saying I'd get a full refund. They explained the next steps in another email, which arrived right away. I chose Venmo and got my money within minutes. I was surprised at how smoothly it all went. No issues, no complaints.

I usually get insurance for stuff
by Samantha

I usually get insurance for stuff I buy, just in case, ya know? But this time, it actually came in handy. I couldn't make it to an event due to some health problems, but luckily, I had coverage for my tickets.

God awful
by Pissed off

They will NEVER give you a refund. Despite their quick responses they made it clear there is clearly no situation in which you’ll ever receive your money back. They will have you jump through hoops providing supporting documentation over and over again.

When signing up for a marathon, the
by Anonymous

When signing up for a marathon, the option to purchase insurance was presented to cover unforeseen circumstances before or on race day. Recently, I sustained an injury during my training for the marathon. Upon informing the company through their website, they requested documentation from a doctor or physician to process a refund. The challenge lies in the fact that my injury doesn't necessitate a doctor's visit and may take a couple of weeks to recover. However, once healed, I won't be adequately prepared for the marathon due to a lack of training, posing a risk of re-injury. While acknowledging my own oversight in planning, it seems reasonable to expect a refund given the injury. The requirement to obtain a doctor's note adds an additional financial burden, raising concerns about the company's approach. This policy may give the impression of a profit-driven organization, making it appear as though they are more focused on retaining funds than accommodating genuine issues, even with valid proof.

Make sure to carefully review all the
by esthergrandyhot

Make sure to carefully review all the details in the fine print before making a purchase, especially if your tickets are on the pricier side. My partner and I bought tickets, but unfortunately, we couldn't attend due to a positive COVID test. It was disappointing that the company wouldn't accept an at-home positive test and insisted on a doctor's note. Fortunately, our situation didn't require urgent medical attention, but obtaining a note on a Saturday afternoon would have cost us a substantial amount. The reimbursement of only $90 for tickets worth hundreds seemed inadequate. Moreover, the insistence on a doctor's note raised concerns about unnecessary exposure to other patients and healthcare workers. Admittedly, I overlooked the fine print, a mistake I own up to. In hindsight, I regret not checking reviews before making the purchase. Had I done so, I might have reconsidered buying from this company. Despite feeling unwell, I could have sold my e-tickets on the day of the event, avoiding the hassle and disappointment.

Disappointed with Fan-Shield's inflexible
by Dan

Disappointed with Fan-Shield's inflexible response during a family crisis. My wife and I faced an urgent situation when my father's cancer diagnosis emerged while we were on a Nashville trip. Despite promptly informing Fan-Shield about our cancellation due to this family emergency, they insisted on specific documentation from my dad's physician, rejecting our plea. The heartless stance became evident when, despite providing text messages and an obituary after my father's passing, they remained unmoved. Fan-Shield's rigid policies make them an unsuitable choice for anyone facing unforeseen, non-same-day emergencies.

Got hit with the flu right
by Joyce A

Got hit with the flu right before a concert, talk about bad timing. Opted for urgent care instead of the hospital, but ended up seeing a PA instead of a doctor. Partner stayed home, sick in bed. Sent in the urgent care statement to FanShield, thinking it's all good, but nope – they wanted a doctor's signature. Now, here's the kicker – getting that signature would cost more than the darn tickets! Lesson learned: the insurance isn't worth the hassle, especially when it ends up costing more than the event itself.

by Tom Border

Two mystery charges for insurance I never signed up for popped up on my credit card. Shot fanshield an email, and they assured me the charges were voided with a refund in the works. But guess what? Those sneaky charges are still hanging out on my credit card. Not cool, not cool at all. Hoping they fix this mess ASAP.

So, I snagged NASCAR
by Kathy E

So, I snagged NASCAR tickets as a Christmas gift for my significant other, but life happened, and we couldn't make it. Tried getting a refund for his ticket, and boom – they hit me with this bizarre rule, saying they only refund family members' tickets. Like, seriously? It's not like he bought 'em; I did! Feels like Macy's saying you can only return gifts from family. Absolute madness.

Had an absolutely awful experience
by Austin Pruitt-Durant

Had an absolutely awful experience with the insurance plan for a family trip to Six Flags. We purchased the insurance to protect against unpredictable weather, but when we learned about bad and rainy weather, Six Flags informed us that, due to the insurance, we couldn't change our tickets or get a refund; we had to go through the insurance process. After opening a claim, the response we received stated that coverage only applied if severe weather conditions made it impossible for us to attend the event. However, this definition didn't include scenarios like heavy snowfall, ice on roads, or abnormally heavy rain unless authorities closed roads. Essentially, unless roads were closed, we were forced to attend the event despite having purchased insurance, leaving us at a full loss. We could have easily changed the dates, but because of the insurance, our plans were disrupted.

by Tiffany Vandall

This company's conduct is far from stellar. The road conditions are horrendous and only seem to be worsening. Despite providing all the requested documents, they persist in asking for more, reaching a point where it becomes impossible to comply. If I had known about these challenges, I would have saved my money and skipped the insurance altogether. I strongly caution others to do the same and steer clear of this insurance scam.

I'm grateful for her outstanding support
by S P

I had the pleasure of working with Natasha throughout my refund process, and I must say she exceeded my expectations. Her level of expertise and professionalism is truly commendable, making the entire experience smooth and positive. In a world where exceptional customer service is increasingly rare, Natasha's assistance stood out. I wish that every company I deal with had more agents like her, as it would undoubtedly improve customer experiences across the board. Natasha's dedication and knowledge are truly praiseworthy, and I'm grateful for her outstanding support.

Fanshield is an absolute scam
by Ken Krickbaum

Fanshield is an absolute scam! I purchased insurance for my $300 tickets, specifically for potential closure due to bad weather. Six Flags did, in fact, close due to inclement weather, but Fanshield denied my refund, claiming we weren't physically at the park when it closed halfway through the day. This is a blatant rip-off and a waste of money.

Be cautious before making a similar purchase.
by Robert J.

I purchased this coverage believing it would protect against rain and various accidents, but when it rained, I filed a claim. To my disappointment, they denied my refund. Strangely, my friends, who hadn't purchased this coverage, contacted the park directly and were able to obtain a full refund. This experience left me dissatisfied and questioning the value of this service. Be cautious before making a similar purchase.

The requested documentation from this company falls short of what's necessary. If you're considering extra protection in case of an incident, think twice. It's best to be prepared to potentially lose your money rather than invest in this company.

It's frustrating and not worth your money.
by Kristina H.

My experience with this company was disappointing. Despite providing clear evidence, including photos, the part number, and a warranty receipt, they denied my refund. Promises of a return call from customer service went unfulfilled. It's frustrating and not worth your money.
