    HWA sent a technician who charged

    HWA sent a technician who charged us $600 instead of the expected $45 service fee. When he inspected the refrigerator, he said we could either pay the $600 fee and he would leave, or we could proceed with the repair and have the fee counted towards the repair cost. However, Howe Warranty of America denied our claim because the compressor, which needed replacement, was considered part of the closed system not covered by the warranty. We feel deceived by HWA because we only learned about the compressor issue from the technician and ended up paying the hefty service fee. This is an honest account of our experience. Prospective customers should be aware of these issues before deciding to invest in HWA.

    Ryan Bissett delivered skilled, informed, and courteous service. He explained all options clearly and was not a "pushy" salesperson, but still shared all details for me to decide wisely. I used Home Warranty of America before until I no longer needed their services. Now I need them again and chose HWA right away. Even though I’m a returning customer, it’s great to know they offer price matching and a 30-day full refund. Still, I’m sure I won’t find a better deal elsewhere.

    This was my third or fourth claim, and on each occasion, the representative on the phone was courteous, helpful, and straightforward in listening to my situation, processing the request, providing me with feedback (whether it was approved or declined), and outlining the expectations for the next steps. In almost every case, the claims were resolved within 24 hours.

    I had a positive experience with HWA as they promptly assigned a company to address my issue, and the service provider was punctual. However, I'm not giving HWA a 5-star rating because there was a delay in getting approval for the work, which extended the time it took to complete the service.     When I bought this plan, I was promised that I could get multiple repairs by the same contractor with just one co-pay. However, I was misinformed – they just said anything to make the sale! Now, I’m thinking about hiring a private investigator and even looking into legal action. It’s just not right!! On a positive note, the contractor was very good!!

    In short, dealing with HWA was a prolonged hassle, taking two months to resolve my dishwasher issue during the holidays. Despite my premium payments totaling over $6000 in 7 years, they only offered a fraction of the replacement cost, leaving me dissatisfied. The email claiming a system replacement turned out to be misleading, and the $591 payout, their maximum for a dishwasher, felt inadequate. The case manager's unyielding stance, reluctance to escalate my concerns, and the restrictive Lowe's gift card payment added to the overall negative experience. Considering my ordeal, I advise against investing in HWA and question the efficacy of other home warranty companies.
