AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL ADMIT TO CHARGING YOU FOR COVERAGE THAT THEY DON'T PROVIDE!!! CHECK BBB COMPLAINTS BEFORE USING. I WISH I DID. Recently used Shipsurance through Shopify for the first time. We insured a package for $2500, and it was damaged by UPS in transit. Submitted a claim to Shipsurance, and they denied it, citing the use of packing tape with our company name on it. According to Emma from Shipsurance support, "In order for coverage to trigger, it must be shipped in accordance with the policy. In your scenario, coverage never triggered due to the packaging." Essentially, they admitted to charging for coverage that was never provided. Deceptive business practices. Very disappointed in both Shopify and Shipsurance, especially during the upcoming holiday season.

I've been shipping packages with a simple logo on the box, not even the company name. This practice is common among many companies, including major ones like Amazon and Walmart. However, Shipsurance through Shopify denied my claim for a lost package, citing the presence of a logo on the box as a reason. This decision seems akin to an insurance company denying a claim for a grey car, claiming it blends with the road and is harder to see. It's frustrating to pay for insurance through Shopify and face such denials, especially when the lost package was verified by the UPS driver. This experience raises questions about the value of paying for "surance" rather than insurance. Considering the reviews, opting for the shipping guarantee app might be a more reliable choice.

I used to have positive encounters with Shipsurance, so I didn't think there'd be any issues. However, when I faced an international shipping loss, things changed. They requested more details, which I provided. When they demanded even more, I called the adjuster. She was rude, unpleasant, and claimed I and my customer were dishonest about the delivery. Additionally, she asked me to gather further information, which seemed to be her responsibility. I hope I don't have to interact with her again and that they hire staff who are more focused on customer service.

Shipsurance ain't so great

Shipsurance ain't so great. They paid quick for small stuff, but messed up big time on a big claim. UPS left our package where it got stolen, but they only paid a bit. Shipsurance denied the rest, saying they don't cover theft. Should've stuck with UPS. We switched to UPS Capital, cheaper and better coverage. Shipsurance said to call, but they ignored us before. No point calling now. UPS at least admits mistakes and talks to us.

I've grown to really like Shipsurance. Claiming is simple and sharing with customers is a breeze. Payments come fast, and you only need a few easy-to-find attachments. No hassle going back and forth.
