ChangeHero is a cryptocurrency exchange service operated by Herofintechs Ltd and designed primarily for direct swaps between supported digital assets. This ChangeHero review covers a transaction model that differs from a conventional exchange with an order book and long-term trading account: the user selects the asset pair and amount, provides a receiving address and sends cryptocurrency for conversion. ChangeHero can route exchanges through third-party liquidity or exchange providers. Availability is restricted in jurisdictions where the company does not provide the service under its current terms.
Standard and fixed-rate crypto exchanges
The platform provides Standard Rate and Fixed Rate transactions. A Standard Rate quote is an estimate, meaning the final amount received can move with the market before the exchange is completed. A Fixed Rate transaction is designed to lock the quoted rate for the applicable period, although the terms allow ChangeHero to reject or recalculate the exchange if the underlying market rate changes by more than the specified threshold, currently 2%.
Transactions can be subjected to AML and KYC checks. ChangeHero may request identification, proof of the source of funds or other information when its compliance system flags a transaction. The service can stop processing until the requested verification is completed.
Refunds, KYC and geographic restrictions
Completed cryptocurrency exchanges are treated as final and are not normally reversible. Refunds are handled only in qualifying circumstances and can be reduced by blockchain network fees. Transactions requiring manual intervention can also incur an operational charge of up to $50 under the published terms.
If a compliance review is triggered and the user refuses to complete KYC, ChangeHero states that it may return the funds after deducting the applicable network cost and an operational fee equal to 10% of the amount, with a minimum equivalent of $100. Geographic exclusions include the United States and its territories, Ontario in Canada, Japan, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Bangladesh and several other locations. The March 2026 terms also restrict service for residents of jurisdictions where a licence is required but the company does not hold the necessary authorisation, including specified European-market circumstances.
