I found good prices here, but...

I found good prices here, but... You must pay before. Sometimes extra charges show up at pickup. Their 'flexible' cancellation policy feels unfair. The small print says there's a 25% cancellation charge. Sometimes they don’t send a confirmation email, so keep your confirmation number safe. Once before, they cancelled my confirmed booking without notice or help. Still, when it goes well, the prices can be quite nice.

They were quite persistent in promoting

They were quite persistent in promoting their insurance coverage. The vehicle we rented had numerous dings and scratches, and it carried a strong marijuana odor, which prompted us to purchase room air fresheners to mitigate the smell. Additionally, the car's windows were notably dirty.

The software works well, it's easy to select car options. There aren't many car choices, mostly manual, just one SUV. The price from Sevilla to Lisboa (4-5 hrs drive) is like my tour in Spain (12 hrs). 6 days.

The agent at the Thrifty Car Retal desk told me the car I booked

The agent at the Thrifty Car Retal desk told me the car I booked with CarRental8 was not available. They offered me another car, which I had to pay for since it was rented directly from Thrifty, and said CarRental8 would repay me for the first car I never got. I used a different credit card and drove off in the Thrifty car. I got charged for both cars. I tried to get a refund but CarRental8 says no refunds. So I lost money on a car I never picked up. CR8 really needs to check availability. Watch out.

Avoid this company.

Avoid this company. I rented a car in Naples with them but there was no vehichle ready when I got there. Ended up getting another one last minute and paid all over again. Was asked to send documents by email to sort a refund. Waited ages for any answer. You can’t call them at all. When they did write back, they're making things really hard. Saying they can’t give money back for same-day bookings, even when the car wasn’t even avaiable.

I bought car rental insurance from Car Rental 8, but later found out the insurance I got doesn’t cover the actual car rental. I paid extra for that. I emailed the company but didn’t get any reply. I will never rent from them again. I will tell others to avoid them.

When reserving the car, the requirement of a minimum 1-year-old driver's license wasn't disclosed until I received the voucher post-payment. Despite emailing immediately, there has been no response. Upon calling the next day and explaining my situation (11-month-old Canadian license due to relocation), the attendant was unhelpful, insisting on an extra charge to change the driver. This demand was made within 24 hours of the reservation, and the subsequent 20-minute call only added to the expenses without a resolution. Communication and customer service were lacking, leaving a disappointing experience.

Hard to reach Customer Service.

I have a reservation I wanted to check on. Since CarRental8 didn’t respond, I contacted the supplier AVIS who said my booking was cancelled. The CarRental8 website still says the booking is confirmed and their support never answers. I don’t know who to contact or if my booking is cancelled, how will I get my refund?

Disappointingly, the company failed

Disappointingly, the company failed to provide the car I paid for, citing issues with the card despite prior successful online use. This resulted in a loss of $300 along with the additional expense of securing a same-day rental from an alternative location.

Awful company. Pointless support that laughs at their customers. They don’t even know their own working hours and can’t understand what their job is. Total garbage. Avoid their services, it’s a scam. 0 out of 10.

This company is really a ripoff, better deal straight with the provider and proper insurance. Their coverage is weak and getting paid back is difficult, plus they respond very slow.

I got booked through a company called Yesaway. Never heard of it. Googled its address, and it is run out of a house. Sketchy is an understatement.

Auto gevonden voor een scherpe prijs. Boeking was simpel en de bevestiging helder. Bij de balie klopten alle gegevens. Extra bestuurder toevoegen ging vooraf al, prettig. Kleine tip: neem altijd foto's bij ophalen. Service was verder top.

Zoeken en filteren op categorie en beleid gingen gemakkelijk. Voucher en huurvoorwaarden werden helder gemaild. Let op borg en brandstofregels van de daadwerkelijke verhuurder. Mijn vluchtnummer werd goed overgenomen. Afhalen zonder verrassingen, klein krasje al geregistreerd.

Boeken ging soepel online

Carrental8 had een duidelijke zoekbalk en filters. Account optioneel, voucher kwam direct per mail. Even goed de voorwaarden lezen, verder prima.
