This was our first time with PG and on a small ship.
This was our first time with PG and on a small ship. We booked the trip through a TA, who used PG's suggestions. After arriving at LAX and staying overnight, we flew to Tahiti PPT via Air Tahiti Nui.
Once at PPT and through Immigration, we had trouble finding the transport. We searched around the area for a PG representative, but there were no signs. After asking around, we finally found the company that was handling our transport to the hotel. This was part of the Pre-Stay package, but the instructions weren’t clear. There was some miscommunication, which caused a bit of confusion. The next day, we were transferred to the ship.
We stayed at the Intercontinental Resort, and the room was nice with great views. The pool was also lovely. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant had a good selection of food. On the ship, the boarding process was a bit slow, with a lot of paperwork. Our cabin was a little smaller than expected, but it had enough storage space. However, the room was noisy because of high winds, and this affected our plans. Several excursions were canceled due to the rough seas, and the tenders were very bumpy.
The food in the dining rooms was quite good, and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. We did an excursion on each island, most of which were enjoyable. The ship’s Marina never opened because of the rough seas, and the barbecue wasn’t very fun due to delays and bad weather.
Although the ship’s entertainment was as advertised, the late-night music was hard to enjoy because of the early excursions. Disembarking was smooth, and we found our transportation easily this time. The tour of Tahiti was nice, and we had a good time at the resort before heading back.
Overall, this was a nice experience, but the communication issues with PG and the small ship size might make us think twice about returning.
