We just completed the Magnificent Europe trip with Avalon, and it was a great experience. The journey was definitely one to remember. Everything was good, the staff was very helpful, and the excursions were guided by locals who were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was tasty and focused on local dishes. My wife has Celiac disease, and they made sure to provide her with gluten-free bread and plenty of food options. The ship was very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. We also made friends with the other passengers and enjoyed a lot of fun moments together. I highly recommend Avalon if you're looking for a well-managed ship with a fantastic crew, ensuring a wonderful vacation.

We had a good time on the Riverboat cruise

We had a good time on the Riverboat cruise along the Danube. It was a very pleasant experience overall. The crew was polite and did their best to make sure we were comfortable. The meals, drinks, and snacks were very nice, and served at times that suited everyone. The coffee stations were available throughout the day, which was a nice touch. We appreciated the variety of excursions offered, with many included in the price. We hope to try another Avalon cruise in the future.

This was my first time cruising, and I was not

This was my first time cruising, and I was not very pleased with the experience. The crew (from cleaning to dining and the behind-the-scenes staff) seemed to lack motivation. The journey was nice, but the ship felt outdated. I’m not sure if I would go again. Our room had a great view, but the food was average. The tours did not impress me much. I would recommend looking for other options instead of going with Avalon Tranquility II.

We completed our first river cruise with Avalon, traveling from Budapest to Bucharest. From the start, we felt well taken care of with excellent service. The meals were really good, and we appreciated the clear communication about the itinerary and available activities. It was great to have everything included. Our cruise director, Melinda, was well-informed and had a fun, engaging personality. We would gladly suggest Avalon Waterways to others.

The cabins are always comfortable.

The cabins are always comfortable. The food is really good. It would be nice if there were semi-dry white wines at dinner (like Rieslings, not too dry). The Christmas market in Colmar was crowded and not that fun. The ship could have had more Christmas decorations. We noticed other ships had a lot more inside. The cruise director was great, and Ariana in housekeeping and Miki in dining were really nice.
