Overall, my experience with Safe Auto Insurance wasn't good. I had their insurance for many years, starting when I was 16, paying my share on my dad's coverage, then on my own until I was 29. I regret not looking into other options earlier because I was consistently paying high premiums, ranging from $146 to $161 per month, for full coverage on my $19k car. Despite having a clean driving record, except for a minor speeding ticket years ago, my rates didn't improve. Switching to Erie Insurance offered me significantly better coverage at a much lower price of $54 per month, which was a third of what I paid with Safe Auto. It seemed like Safe Auto was only concerned about collecting their high payments on time. Their app was bothersome, constantly reminding me with big red numbers and exclamation points about upcoming payments, which didn't refresh accurately when I logged in. Dealing with their customer service wasn't pleasant either, but nothing particularly good or bad stood out about it. I have no intention of returning to Safe Auto; they don't deserve my money.

Been a customer since 2014. Added a new truck to my policy before leaving the car lot. Was quoted on the phone that my new insurance payment would be $185. Eight days later, when my renewal came up, the payment was $229. I called and asked why, didn’t get a clear answer, asked to speak to manager and was told, “You weren’t misquoted, she just didn’t have all the information in front of her. And you KNEW you had a renewal coming up!” Quoting incorectly without all the information in front of you is misquoting. And apparently it’s my fault for being misquoted and not having a second job as an insurance agent.

I had trouble with your system not saving my quote so whenever I would pull it up, putting the exact same information then it would be a little bit higher every time so I am adding about five dollars every month then than what I was talking told first time because of that.

That was really fast and easy and one of the cheaper prices around. The only thing I didn't like was after paying the first month, I had to pay the second only two weeks later and I wasn't expecting that so soon.

I had issues with your system

I had issues with your system not saving my quote. Every time I revisited it and entered the same details, the price went up slightly. As a result, I'm now paying about $5 more each month than initially quoted.

This company is really bad and should shut down. They don't work hard and they lie. They take your money, don't give you a policy, and then charge you a fee when they cancel it. They are dishonest crooks!

So, I ain't had a driver's license in 21 years. Safe Auto is a bit pricey, but they beat other companies on price.
