My aunt went on this cruise years ago
by Anonymous

My aunt went on this cruise years ago and talked about it a lot. So, we decided to book a trip in her honor. When I first called, I spoke to someone who clearly didn’t want to help. I barely got any useful info. A few days later, in May, I called to book the trip for an 8/26 departure. I added travel insurance and paid $26262.02. The insurance from Allianz covered Covid, but my husband and I got sick just before the trip. I called Paul Gauguin to cancel, but the agent told me I should be fine to travel by Friday. I explained we were still sick—what did they expect us to do, infect everyone on board? I filed a claim with Allianz and submitted all the necessary documents. They kept sending me emails asking for forms that were never attached. It took multiple requests to get them. They’ve had my money since May, and I just received another email asking for the form again with no attachment. I checked the portal and saw they closed my case without any reimbursement or explanation! When I called Paul Gauguin again, the agent told me to email customer support. I did, but they just told me to call Allianz. Now I’ve lost $26262.02, and no one is helping me recover it. I should note that Allianz partners with Paul Gauguin. They both seem dishonest, and I would not recommend booking this trip.
