I like to travel and experience different cultures. I usually go with big travel companies. But for Japan, I picked UME Travel. At first, I wasn't sure about them, but I was totally wrong. Lan Liu planned a great trip for me and my friends. She understood what I wanted and the plan was well-organized. Our Japan trip was perfect! Lan Liu is nice, polite, and knows a lot. She was patient with me, which isn't easy. She checked in with us a lot, even after the trip. I really suggest UME and I'll use them again.

We love exploring new destinations and have had the chance to visit many amazing places across the globe. Often, we go for group tours, but this was our first time choosing a private tour service. I found UME Travel and several other companies online. After doing my own research on both the companies and the tours, I received some great itineraries that matched our preferences. After careful consideration, we decided to book with Ivan from UME Travel. Originally, we planned just for Thailand, but with Ivan's help and multiple revisions, our trip grew to include Phukett, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Bali, and Singapore. I had many questions and made several changes before the itinerary was finalized, and Ivan was always quick to respond through emails and WhatsApp messages. Planning such a detailed trip, including flights, transfers, and tours, was not easy, but Ivan managed it all expertly. He remained available for any adjustments throughout our travels. When we contacted him for small changes during the trip, he quickly handled everything to our satisfaction. This really took away any stress we might have felt in unfamiliar cities where we didn’t know the language. All the local tour guides and drivers were fantastic, ensuring we got around safely and on time. We are very grateful to Ivan and all the guides and drivers. They truly made the trip memorable. We’d like to thank each one of them for their help. Ivan arranged for great local tour operators, guides, and drivers. The tour guides in each city gave us amazing insight into the culture and history, and the drivers were all very friendly and skilled. Unfortunately, I don’t have the names of the drivers to include here. Overall, we are very pleased with Ivan and the service provided by UME Travel. It was a fantastic experience, and we’re lucky to have found such a great company. We would definitely use Ivan and UME Travel again in the future.

Just got back from an amazing 11-day adventure in Japan

Just got back from an amazing 11-day adventure in Japan, and a big part of what made it go so well was the awesome help from UME Travel, mainly Carrie Tang. We pulled this trip together super fast—only had three weeks and didn't know where to start. Then Carrie jumped in and really helped us figure it all out. She was quick to respond, gave us good tips, and made sure all our plans were in place. Even with her being in China, she always got back to us quickly and was there when we needed her. She was always polite and easy to talk to. I never felt rushed or pushed into anything, and she always took time to explain things to me. Planning something this big online can feel a bit scary, but Carrie made it feel like talking to a freind who had my back. While we were in Japan, Carrie kept in touch to make sure we had the info we needed for our guides, drivers, and city switches. She didn’t stop caring once the trip started, which was really nice of her. The places we visited were awesome. Karen showed us around Tokyo and Hakone, and Bianco was our guide in Kyoto and Osaka. Both of them knew a lot and were really fun to be with. They even added a few extra spots we hadn’t expected, which was a cool surpirse. This trip was one we’ll never forget, and we really want to thank Carrie at UME Travel, plus Karen and Bianco, for helping make it all happen.

Our 6 day family trip with UME Travel and our coordinator Eva Wang was truly memorable!

Every part was carefully planned, making our visit to Beijing and Shanghai easy and relaxed. Eva worked within my budget and I could reach her anytime I had a question. Big thanks to our amazing tour guides Jack, Juliet, and Run who made each place come alive with their knowledge and kindness. Our 9 year old son loves Juliet because she was gentle and caring with him. She held his hand to make sure he didn’t get lost in the crowd. We saw the beauty, culture, and spirit of Beijing and Shanghai in a way we’ll always remember. Definitely recommend UME Travel for anyone wanting a family trip to China. OUR tour guides are fantastic, friendly, and nice, especially Juliet. She was our favorite! Jack was awesome too! Also, you did well with the first hotel. The Holiday Day Inn Temple Of Heaven in Beijing was clean, and the breakfast was tasty in every way. But, we disliked the hotel in Shanghai, Kingtown Hotel Plaza. The breakfast wasn’t good, The place was old and dark. The bathroom and room had mold and mildew. While I stayed there I skipped breakfast. There were not many choices. Oh, and Run was great too. I wouldn’t give it a 4 star, more like 1 star. Overall, we had an amazing time, great memories, and lots of laughs!

After a lot of research to find the best travel agency

After a lot of research to find the best travel agency, I chose UME Travel. I needed a company that: 1) customizes tours (instead of fixed schedules and pre-chosen activities) 2) has agents based in Thailand (though UME's main office is in China, their agents work from Bangkok) 3) no extra charges (the quoted price is the final price) 4) has one contact person for any issues (rather than running around to find who to reach if something goes wrong, like when our ATV pickup was late. We messaged our agent, who then contacted the ATV company and kept us updated.) We were fortunate to have Dan Li assist us with planning our trip, which required 3 revisions. When two friends decided to join us after seeing our plans, Dan smoothly added them to our itinerary. There was a minor problem during the trip. We visited Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. An agent met us at each place, but the Phuket agent was not ideal. I reached out to Dan, and he quickly arranged for a new agent. I appreciate how Dan stayed involved throughout our trip. UME made our Thailand trip wonderful! Thanks a lot to Dan Li.

I wasn't very familiar with UME travel when I decided to book

I wasn't very familiar with UME travel when I decided to book a custom family tour of Japan with them, so I was a bit unsure at first. But I have to say, I was really happy with the service overall. Ivan was very patient with me as I made changes to our busy itinerary and always got back to me quickly with detailed answers to my many questions. He was also really helpful in helping me plan a unique experience that fit our family's needs. The service in Japan was also fantastic. Our guide Karen kept us on track and was so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and full of energy. Both she and our drivers knew the local culture well and helped us explore all the must-see places with ease. I was so thankful for the private, tailored service they provided. I would have been lost without all their guidance and expertise. I would definitely book with them again and have no problem recommending UME to others.

Amber was our coördinator/planner

Amber was our coördinator/planner, and she was so great to work with. She was patient when we needed to change some things around and was always available despite the time difference. During our trip Amber checked in on us and was also available incase we had questions or needed anything. Our trip went smoothly even with the amount of places we were visiting in Japan. Our driver Kilan was such a great driver. We felt super safe with him and he was very nice and respectful. His vehicle was very comfortable. Kilan was available anytime we needed him. We had several tour guides due to how far apart the cities we were visiting were but we really loved Cave and Xiao. They took tons of pictures of us and were very social. They had a lot in common with my husband making it easier to feel at ease with them but all your guides were respectful, friendly, and caring of our experience.

We had a great experience with UME travel! Ivan was always there to answer our questions and helped us plan the perfect trip. He made everything really simple, so we didn’t have to worry about planning or booking. Ivan handled everything for us! When we arrived at the airport, Kai was there to greet us with a warm welcome, and from that moment, everything was smooth sailing. Kai made sure we were happy and comfortable the whole time! All of our activities, hotels, and transfers were with the friendliest people! We never had to stress about anything. This was our first time traveling so far and we were a bit anxious… but UME travel made it easy. If you’re thinking of visiting Asia, BOOK WITH UME! You’ll be glad you did. We had a wonderfull time in Hokkaido with help

We had a wonderfull time in Hokkaido with help from our coordinator Ivan and our guide Yuya! Ivan put together a nice plan for our family of four and really thought about what we liked. This wasn’t our first time in Japan, but it was one of the best. UME travel took care of everything, so we didn’t have to think about the small stuff. The places we stayed at were very good, and Yuya made the days really fun! We’ve had different guides before, but he’s our favorite! He shared many cool things about Japan and Hokkaido’s past, and you could tell he cared a lot. He was kind, easy to talk to, and made sure things went at the right speed for us. And our driver Trevor was aweome as well! We always felt safe and cared for. We plan to go with UME travel again!

Weekend trip to Datong

I went on a weekend trip from Beijing to Datong in January 2025 to explore the city’s historical landmarks. My experience was fantastic - smooth transfer from the hotel to the train station, great train ride, and a wonderful guide named Rita who spent two days showing me around the city's top attractions. Eva from UME arranged the itinerary, and it was spot on. I was glad I took their suggestion to stay at a traditional hotel in the old town, which turned out to be unique and very comfortable. All in all, it was an amazing trip, and I’d strongly recommend it. The weather was chilly but sunny with no snow, as the area is dry. I’d even suggest visiting in the winter since I’ve heard the warmer months can get quite packed with tourists.

Eva Wang from UME Travel China planned a memorable solo trip for me to explore the Giant Panda bases in Chengdu, Dujiangyan, and Wolong. This has been a dream of mine, and Eva and UME Travel China made it happen. From the moment I arrived at Chengdu airport until my departure, I was attended by a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide who had all the facts about Giant Pandas. Wolong was the highlight, nestled in the mountains in their natural surroundings. Watching the pandas play and eat bamboo was wonderful. I spent 20 days in Japan with a tour organized by UME Travel, which included private guides and drivers. There were no issues during the trip, everything went smoothly. The daily itinerary was well planned, and both the guides and drivers went out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. They were flexible and adjusted the plan according to my preferences. We got a complete, detailed plan that covered transportation, guides, and drivers! Everything was taken care of, even things I didn’t consider like a SIM card for global travel and must-see spots. I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience. The hotels were good, with great breakfast! Our guides were very nice and helpful. The journey had stops in Singapore, Bangkok Thailand, and Bali Indonesia. It's a 12-day package with all transfers and tours included. The Singapore tours and guide were great. Lilly really went above and beyond, taking us to an extra spot. She was very smart and spoke excellent English. In Bangkok, Mr. X was great and knew a lot about the history of Bangkok. He took us to all the cultural spots, especially the temples. It was a great experience, though be prepared to walk quite a bit. Flying to Bali tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to the rest of the adventure.

We had a lot of back and forward emails, because of my questions and requirements. She helped me with everything and chose the best hotels and tours for us. I can't thank enough to her! The tour guides were extremely friendly and nice! the tours were awsome Ms. A (Bangkok) Ms. Indy (Chiang Mai) Ms. Kai and Ms. Lisa (Phuket) They also were special with me on my birthday day! That made my celebration unforgettable.

Our trip to Japan was amazing.

Our trip to Japan was amazing. Steve set us up with a couple great guides and our kids said this was the best trip they ever had. Everything was customized just for us and the tours were very private - just our family. We've done Gate1 tours and they are more group settings and on a rigid schedule. This was VERY different - like a good friend showing us around their home town. They took care of everything. We were all sad when the trip was over and we will looking forward to planning our next trip with UME in the near future.

I booked a 10-day tour of Japan with Dan from UME Travel, and it was a really great experience! Dan worked hard to make the itinerary just as we wanted, and it turned out to be spot on. We realy enjoyed our visit to Bangkok, and a big part of that was becaus of our amazing guide Jah Chanatip and the kind bus driver. Jah shared a lot of info, was easy to talk to, and made sure each person felt welcome and had a good time. The bus driver also stood out—always cheerful, calm, and careful while driving, which made the journey feel safe and easy. Everything felt smooth and nicely planned with their help. We booked with UME Travel (Dan Li) for an 18-day journey to Japan and the Philippines. After a plane delay caused us to miss our Tokyo connection, Dan swiftly rearranged our transfers and itinerary. Later, when weather forced more changes, Dan promptly updated our plans, including new tickets. His quick responses and help were reassuring. All transfers and guides from UME were great, and the hotels were well-placed and nice. I'd definitely use UME Travel again for a trip to Asia.

What a great experience! Eva Wang did an amazing job. She put together a fantastic plan for us, and everything went smoothly. She was always quick to respond and super friendly. When my son missed a ride at Universal because of the long lines, she even sent him a nice gift. We were really pleased with the whole trip. If you're thinking about traveling, UME is the way to go (and ask for Eva). We wouldn't have been able to organize such a memorable journey without their help!

This was my second trip across several countries

This was my second trip across several countries with UME Travel. Dan Li did a great job organizing everything for me. My time in Thailand was really nice thanks to all the attention I got. Ooy (Ms. Thassanee) was my guide in Northern Thailand, and she took great care of me. As a female solo traveler, I feel safe and looked after with UME, and I’ll definitely book more trips with them. Now, I’m heading to Laos for more adventure.

We had a really engaging guide who definitely gave us a genuine glimpse of Bangkok. She was quite attentive, even visiting us the night before to double-check our needs, despite already covering this in emails. She noted down all our expenses and provided options for the day. She was amazing with the kids, gifting them a flower garland, small elephant, and food to feed the fish, making our day memorable. Would surely recomend.

Dan Li organized our trip to Japan and Singapore without any problems, and it was really simple to coordinate with him. His customer service was really good. We also enjoyed the company of our guides John and Yukiko in Japan, and Cindy in Singapore. They were all very experienced, spoke excellent English, and made sure we had a nice time. She was always there to help with any questions. My guides, Shirley and Rachael, were knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They made sure I had a good time and enjoyed the trip.

Eva was awesome to work with

Eva was awesome to work with and me family of 3 really liked our trip to Japan. A highlight was our tour guide in Osaka her name was JJ and she was super friendly and great with English. My only downside was the driving service they pressured us to start later each morning so we were consistently stuck in traffic and had to rush through some of the sites / activities.
