    Using the Insta360 X5 every

Using the Insta360 X5 every day to capture real-world traffic is a bit of a rollercoaster. The camera itself is a dream – brilliant image quality, fantastic stabilization, and GPS integration. But the software? It's like hitting a pothole at full speed. Imagine having to export a 30-minute video just to add overlays like speed or tilt, and then importing it again to trim. Want to tweak the overlay's appearance? You're starting from scratch. And if you remove the SD card, your project loses file links, so you're stuck holding onto it forever or cloning it. Overlaying two text elements simultaneously? Forget it. The lack of a proper timeline, layers, or real workflow is frustrating. I had to shell out for the GPS Remote because my phone's GPS wouldn’t sync, yet I still need external editors like DaVinci Resolve to achieve what Insta360 Studio should handle. This camera could be legendary, but the software is holding it back. Insta360, please, for the love of creators, get the software right.

    Frustrating time!

I recently had a frustrating experience with a store's customer service. Initially, I asked for a refund on one item but later decided to keep it, so I requested to cancel the refund. However, my plans shifted, and I realized the order wouldn’t arrive on time. When I reached out to cancel the whole order, the response I got was baffling. The representative told me they canceled my refund request and that I'd receive a tracking email after the delivery. It was clear there was a misunderstanding, which was incredibly irritating. I don’t have much patience for this kind of confusion, and it’s put me off shopping there again.

    I bought this Insta 360

I bought this Insta 360 camera, thinking it would be perfect for our needs. It arrived, but I didn't get around to opening it for a week. When I finally tested it around the house, it just wasn't what we were looking for—way too complicated for our simple needs. By the time we decided it wasn’t for us, the box was already trashed. I emailed customer service, hoping for some help, but they were awful. Their 15-day return policy is a joke, especially since the camera was barely touched. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Now, I'm stuck with a camera I don't want and can’t recommend Insta 360 to anyone.

    Bought this for our company

Bought this for our company and wow, what a mess. The finance team is a nightmare – invoices are always wrong, missing fiscal codes, and they mess up prices. It's sketchy and feels illegal. They gave us FlexiCare as a gift, but honestly, I'm scared to even use it. The product itself is just okay. Quality-wise, it's alright but gets super hot if left on for more than 10 minutes. And don't get me started on the SD card reader – none of my cards worked except one after trying six different ones. Very frustrating and confusing. Overall, not worth the hassle and definitely wouldn't recommend for business use.

    I bought this product online

I bought this product online, and while it's pretty decent, the customer service was just terrible. They forgot to include an SD card that I purchased, and even after sending them photos of what I got, they refused to give me a refund. It took me weeks just to get a straight answer from them. Since they're based in China, they're not really bound by the same customer protection laws, so they can pretty much do whatever they want. If you’re buying from overseas, be ready to take on all the risk of not getting what you paid for. It was a frustrating experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

    Update on my earlier review:

Update on my earlier review: I've reached out through Trust Pilot as Insta360 requested, so they can verify my review. Just to be clear, my name is David Page, and my order number is INS7702507131821255009D3. After some back and forth, Noah from their team contacted me, and he was super helpful. He suggested returning the item for a repair, which I agreed to, especially since I was considering taking it up with PayPal. Sent it off to their repair center today. Fingers crossed the camera comes back in full working order. I'll definitely keep you all posted once I get it back and test it out.

    Stay away

I recently dealt with this company, and it was a bit of a nightmare. Their prices are just way too high for what you get. The tech support is practically nonexistent, and when you do get through, it's like talking to a robot. They just don't seem to care about solving issues. And replacing parts? Forget about it. It's a wallet-drainer. Honestly, it's not the worst out there, but it's definitely not worth the hassle or the cost. I'd recommend looking elsewhere. This experience was frustrating to say the least. Stay away if you value your time and money.

I upgraded from X2 to X4, and it was a mistake. The X2 was decent, but the X4 is just full of glitches. It's way too heavy, and their mounts can't handle it. I've had three Insta mounts break on me, and the last one actually caused the camera to fall to the ground. Customer service doesn't seem to care at all; they haven't even replied to my emails. I've spent over £1,300 on their stuff, and I feel totally ignored. Honestly, I don't feel valued as a customer, and it's really frustrating.

    Avoid if you can!

I got the Insta360 X3 camera and it's been great for my car. It captures everything around me, super handy for those parking incidents or if someone hits your car. It even helped me in court once when someone did a hit and run on my car! But then the camera broke a few months in. I emailed Insta support in January 2025, and it's now February 2025 and I'm still arguing with them. They finally offered a repair, but I have to pay for return postage. Plus, there’s talk of customs charges even though it's within the UK. They want me to send it to some address in Bilston, England, which seems a bit dodgy. During our many emails, they sent scripts to put on the memory card. Weirdly, my camera's serial number changed after that! Customer service has been terrible and very frustrating. Not sure I should risk sending the camera away with all these extra charges. The tech is great, but their after-sales service is shocking. Avoid if you can!

    I ordered an Ace Pro

I ordered an Ace Pro camera from Insta360’s website, thinking it would be smooth sailing. Boy, was I wrong. I messed up my address, and the package couldn't be delivered. I contacted customer service right away to fix it, but they were super slow to respond. They kept saying they needed to check with their team if they got the package back. Meanwhile, Australia Post already confirmed to me that it was returned. I even sent a screenshot of the tracking info, but they just dragged their feet. I’m heading overseas soon and really needed the camera, so I was willing to pay the return fee. But they couldn't even assure me I’d get it in time. Finally, I asked for a refund, and they said they’d deduct a fee even though I never got the package. Seriously? Insta360’s customer service is terrible. I was so excited about the camera, but now I just regret not buying it from somewhere else. Avoid buying directly from them if you can.

    Try something else!

I recently splurged on the Insta360x4 from their website, picking up a bundle that included the camera, dive case, and a bunch of other goodies. I even threw in some extra accessories, spending quite a bit. Everything arrived quickly and in good shape, but when I finally got around to opening the box, I realized the magnetic selfie stick backpack holster was missing. I also got an extra thermo camera case that wasn't mentioned. I reached out to their customer service, hoping for a quick fix. Instead, they asked for a ton of proof, like pictures and videos, which was frustrating. After a lot of back and forth, they offered me 50% off if I wanted to buy the missing item again. Feeling undervalued and like they didn't care, I won't be purchasing from them directly again. If you're thinking about buying, maybe try Amazon instead.

    Don't buy from Insta360 if

Don't buy from Insta360 if you're in the UK! I ordered the Insta360 Go 3, and it came all the way from China. I wanted to return it within 5 days, thinking it'd be easy because of their "no-reason return" policy. Big mistake. They only give you 14 days from the order date, not from when you get it. They kept stalling, asking why I wanted to return it and suggesting ways to "improve" the camera. They even offered me a measly £9 refund on a £400+ camera to keep it. After countless emails, I finally got the return address, and guess what? You have to send it back to Hong Kong at your own cost, including delivery and customs fees! Their return policy was clearly written to make things hard for customers. I thought buying directly from them would be better than Amazon, but no way! I'll never buy from them again.

    Scam

I got an Insta360 Ace Pro 2 from their official store on Amazon, thinking it'd be cool for my projects. But straight out of the box, it had some major hiccups. The battery barely lasted 20 minutes and took forever to charge. Plus, the flip screen showed everything upside-down when used for selfies. Tried all sorts of updates and resets—nothing worked. After weeks of back-and-forth emails with customer service, they wanted me to ship it back to Hong Kong before sending a replacement, which seemed ridiculous. I’m disabled, so dropping it off at FedEx wasn’t easy or cheap. Their service was all over the place, with different reps not helping much. Honestly, it's been a frustrating experience, and I’m still waiting for a resolution. Until then, I’d advise caution with Insta360 products.

    Insta360's recent releases have really

Insta360's recent releases have really missed the mark. As someone who loves action cams for their compact design, I've been disappointed since the X2. The X3 is larger and heavier, ruining its usability for cycling. Then, the X4 came along, and it was even worse. By the time the X5 dropped, it was clear they weren't listening. It's just a bulky brick now, with not enough feature upgrades to justify its size. Their selfie sticks can't handle the weight—I've broken three just using the X3. And their lens protectors? Expensive fog machines with zero airflow. I skipped the X4 and hoped the X5 would be better—wrong move. After wasting money on overpriced gear, I’m done with Insta360. They need a serious wake-up call before they lose more customers like me.

    it's a one-star from me

So, I got the Insta360 One RS twin and used it just once. Everything seemed fine until the Flow Rate Stabilization icon vanished from the screen. Tutorials show three swipe screens, but mine suddenly has only two. Plus, the grid scale and sound adjustments are gone too. I reached out to support, and after 24 hours of back and forth, they told me to pay for shipping and make a case to another department for an RMA. They didn't even try reloading the firmware. My camera's just a week old, barely used, and in perfect condition. Things can break, but their reluctance to replace it or admit there's an issue? That's why it's a one-star from me. Expensive lesson learned. Buying Chinese products, you really don't get much protection.

    Really disappointed

So, I had this tiny scratch on my Insta360 X3 lens, nothing major, didn't affect how it worked at all. I went to the Turkey service and they hit me with an 8500 TL (~€240) quote to fix it, claiming the waterproof seal would be compromised. Then they suggested a "better" option: just buy a new one for 9500 TL. I thought, seriously? After loads of back and forth with Insta360 global support, all they could offer was a 30% discount in Turkey or 40% in Germany. Still way too pricey for a minor scratch. No real repair or part replacement, just pushing me to spend a fortune or lose features. Really disappointed with how they handle after-sales, especially in places with no other service options.

    I've had my little camera

I've had my little camera since 2021 and it worked fine until last year when I decided to use it underwater. I checked the manufacturer's site to make sure it was waterproof. They said it was, but turns out, it isn't. My camera died after a short swim, and I wasn't even diving deep. When I got back from the sea, it just wouldn't turn on. Customer service was no help either. They want me to pay for a new motherboard, the repair, and shipping fees from Hong Kong. I even offered to cover shipping, but they wouldn't budge. It's frustrating to be misled about the camera being waterproof. Honestly, if you're considering an Insta360 camera, you might want to look at other options.

    Bought an X4 on September

Bought an X4 on September 28th, 2024. Out of the box, it had trouble connecting to my Samsung S24 Ultra. After recording just 45 minutes of footage, it stopped connecting to both my phone and Galaxy Tab 9. Tried using the Windows desktop app by pulling the SD card, but that failed too. The app blue-screened my $5000 PC with a high-end graphics card. The cell app on Google Play and iTunes is full of complaints about connectivity and bugs. Reviews are suspiciously mixed, with many fake positives. Insta360 wants me to send in the camera for repair, but I’m not paying $500+ for something that didn’t work right from the start. They refuse to send a new one. Avoid this company.

    Terrible customer service

So, I ordered this Insta360 Flow 2 Pro gimbal on January 29, 2025, and let me tell you, it's been a nightmare. I’ve sent countless emails, just wanting to know why it’s taking over 30 days to get my order. The one time they responded, they said the engineers needed to get back to me. What? I only asked about the timeline! It feels like they have automated responses, no real answers, until I mentioned canceling the order. Then suddenly, they’re sending me warranty info for a product I haven’t even received. They even asked if there’s something they could do for me. Seriously? It’s like dealing with ghosts. Stay away from Insta360, folks. Terrible customer service.

    Pretty rough experience

I’ve had a pretty rough experience with a certain company recently. Ordered something by mistake and immediately tried to cancel it, like they say you can on their site. But guess what? They totally ignored my emails and went ahead with the shipment anyway. Once the payment cleared, they finally reached out, saying it was too late to cancel and I’d be charged if I didn’t accept the delivery. Tried everything to get in touch—emails, web chats, social media—but they just kept ignoring me. It's frustrating how they don't seem to care about what their customers are asking. I’ve got some of their stuff from Amazon before but after this, I’m sticking with other brands.

    Slow customer service

I tried buying an Insta 370 x4 camera worth over £600. I’m in the UK and their customer service is slow, taking hours to reply in chat. I ordered the camera and a U bolt mount for my bike. Didn’t realize it takes 12 days for shipping. But if I pay more and buy a selfie stick with the U bolt mount bundle, I can get next-day delivery. If they have the mounts in stock, why not just send them? I’ve decided to cancel my order and wait for a refund since they billed me immediately. They won’t ship items separately; everything comes together. If one thing is out of stock, you wait for everything. I’ve ordered an action camera instead, and it’s arriving tomorrow.

I bought this fancy instaflow 360 tripod for a birthday trip back in February, but it turned out to be a major letdown. The head didn't work right, and my phone wouldn’t stay oriented in the tripod. I reached out for a replacement six months ago and have been going back and forth with their support ever since. They just keep asking for videos or giving me useless tech advice instead of sending a return label and a new one. I feel like they're just waiting for my warranty to run out. I’ve spent over $200 on a product I can’t even use. I got too busy to keep chasing them, but I think I'll report them to some consumer bureaus soon. This is just not right.

the worst experience I've had with a company

I ordered an Insta360 Flow 2 Pro AI Tracking Bundle a few days ago, and the website claimed it would be dispatched in 1-2 days. Well, it's been over two days, and nothing’s happened. When I reached out to customer service, I spoke with Nazira. She told me the item is on pre-order, which was never mentioned when I ordered it. And if it's a pre-order, why say it'll be dispatched in 2 days? Then she tried to say the dispatch time was actually 14-21 days, not 2. I showed her a screenshot proving it said 2 days, and she just stopped replying. This is the worst experience I've had with a company. Definitely wouldn’t recommend buying from their online store.

Bought a camera from this company, but they didn't offer the warranty upfront. Had to buy it separately, which was annoying. Turns out, their customer service is only through email and they're based in China. Not being able to chat in real-time was a pain, and their email response times were super slow. They tried to say my complaints went to spam, which is obviously a lie since my previous emails didn't. When they finally replied, they didn't even answer my questions.
