To add to the frustration, the billing discrepancy was evident on the appointment confirmation. Despite their website advertising a $99.00 installation fee, the confirmation reflected a total charge of $139.32. The breakdown showed $129.00 for the service, with "0" taxes, and an additional $10.32 labeled as "safety and support fees." Their attempt to justify this as insurance and support was unconvincing.
This company seems to operate on a "bait and switch" strategy, aiming to lure customers into memberships, synonymous with future subscription revenues. During the interaction, they encouraged me to sign up for an annual membership costing $149.00 for the "REMOTE" plan, accompanied by a monthly fee of $19.95 and a hefty $69.95 in-home fee, totaling a staggering $459.30.
Their lack of transparency, coupled with misleading pricing tactics, is disconcerting. It appears that clarity is not a forte for both their website and support department, leaving customers vulnerable to unexpected charges. Caution is advised, and I would recommend steering clear of this company.
