Fonus service is quick and efficient. I faced a few small issues trying to activate two numbers on one account (different phones). They were resolved fast. The app is somewhat awkward, missing options to block calls and set favorites. But it works fine for calls and texts.

The company offers dependable service at a fair cost. My only gripes are that their app lacks support for group texting and dark mode. Apart from these drawbacks, I'd suggest this to anyone.

I've been using this service for

I've been using this service for around 1.5 years. Things took a turn when they revamped their services. Billing became a big issue, with some folks not getting refunds from the old system but still being charged. Plus, the service didn't even function properly in South America, so I had to switch to another service for that area. And let's talk about customer service. Initially, they were friendly, but lately, their attitude has become quite snooty, like they always think they're right and you're wrong. Take the network system, for instance. I had to manually select my network every time I crossed the US/Canada border. Before, customer service would give me carrier names for my trips to Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan. But now, they just say it'll happen automatically without giving me the info I need (especially since I had to reload my app for another issue). Makes me wonder if I'm talking to a real person or some AI!

I've been with Fonus for a few years... the service is mostly fine, though there are occasional issues. Lately, I couldn't reach my texts, call log, contacts, or the dialer in the Fonus app. I contacted them through chat and email. They fixed it after about 5 hours of trying different "solutions" ... often removing and adding the app again. But after one day, the same problems came back. Once more, I spent hours trying to fix it.. still no luck fixing it so far.

People have said that their calls drop and get choppy a lot with this service. Lots of issues with the connection; sometimes you can barely hear or be heard. This seems to be because of problems with the pings. It's not just me noticing this—many others on various sites have said the same.

Adequate Service and Assistance is quite fast.

Adequate Service and Assistance is quite fast. However, I still don’t have Call Forwarding, even though their IT team keeps saying they "are working on it." Also, they can't receive verification texts for 2 Step verification from some agencies and banks, which makes it REALLY annoyng. I've used it in Canada and the USA with varied results, but haven’t tested it in other places.

I’ve been trying to get in touch for more than 3 days, and no one has helped me yet. There’s no support whatsoever. I paid for the service, but for over 3 days, I’ve had no updates unless I’m connected to my home Wi-Fi. Once I leave the house, I have no data, and I can’t make or receive calls!

Since I started using Fonus a few months back, it's been pretty much worthless. I spend the beginning of each day trying to make my phone work right, often needing to uninstall and reinstall. I never had issues with Virgin Mobile. I regret choosing Fonus.

    I've been with Fonus since

I've been with Fonus since they started and it's been quite the ride. The network coverage is pretty stellar, hopping onto the best available network automatically, or you can pick one yourself. Their customer service is ace too, always there when you need 'em through chat, though I've never tried calling. Roaming's a breeze - used my phone across Canada, the USA, and Europe like I was still at home. The Fonus app's great over any WiFi, so you stay connected as long as there's a signal. No APN hassle anymore either, just pop in the SIM and you're good to go. Downsides? You gotta use the app for calls and texts, which is a bit of a pain. Texting’s been hit or miss on my new phone, though receiving's fine. Latency was an issue on some networks, messing up online gaming, but that got sorted out early 2025 with new SIMs.

    I'm really impressed

I gotta say, I'm really impressed with Fonus. Their customer support is so human and really helpful. I travel a lot, so having reliable service is crucial. Signed up mainly because I'm headed to India and needed global data. The service runs entirely on data with VoIP calling and texting through their app, which looks a bit like True Caller. Just a heads up, it doesn’t use your usual phone or messaging apps, but everything works smoothly, including OTPs. I even managed to port my number from Koodo without any hiccups. Big shoutout to Emily, Bruce, and Ursula for helping me set up my eSIM – I'm not the most tech-savvy person. If you want true unlimited data and solid coverage almost anywhere, give these guys a try. 5/5, would recommend!

    Great experience

Alright, so let me tell you about my experience with Fonus. I tried getting their eSIM for my phone, thinking it was going to be a smooth ride. Spoiler alert: my phone wasn't having it! Ursula from customer support was super helpful though. She managed to get me a refund pretty quickly after realizing my phone wasn't compatible. Setting it all up was a bit of a hassle, had to reinstall the app a few times, but once it got going, calls and messages worked fine over WiFi. Problem was, stepping away from WiFi meant no data. They're sorting it by sending me a physical SIM card, but I've seen mixed reviews about wait times and folks not getting theirs. Fingers crossed! Nonetheless, Ursula's help was top-notch.

    Dealing with Fonus is quite

Dealing with Fonus is quite the experience, let me tell you. Ever since we moved from Canada to Portugal, my spouse and I have been on the hunt for a carrier that wouldn’t rip us off like some others (looking at you, Rogers!). Fonus was the answer. They made porting our Canadian numbers a breeze. I'm not the most tech-savvy person, so I had a bunch of questions. Luckily, Fonus has real humans to talk to, not just robots. Today, Emily was my lifesaver. She patiently walked me through everything and made it all seem easy. Now I can head off to Brazil with my Canadian number and zero worries about extra fees. Thanks, Emily, you’re awesome!

I've been with Fonus for a couple of years now, and it's been mostly smooth sailing. Roaming charges are a thing of the past, and I get 5G almost everywhere I go. I’ve tried it out across Europe, North America, and some parts of Asia without a hitch. Customer support is also pretty quick to respond via chat, which is great. However, I have noticed that sometimes it takes a while to connect to local networks. A quick SIM reboot usually does the trick, but it can be annoying. Also, there was a hiccup with new SIM cards they sent out six months back, but that’s all sorted now. My recent trips to Spain and Dublin went without a glitch.

    I've been using this service

I've been using this service for nearly a year now, and it's been pretty awesome. Traveling around places like China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, and the USA, I didn't expect the connection to be so good. It's like, no matter where I am, I can just hop online without a fuss. The access in these countries has been a game-changer for me, especially because I travel a lot for work. I remember being in a café in Vietnam and needing to download some big files for a project—no problem at all, it was fast and smooth. It's really made my travel experience less stressful, knowing I can rely on solid connectivity wherever I go.

    Switching over to Fonus was

Switching over to Fonus was one of the best decisions I've made. Setting it up was a breeze, and the option to port my number in just a few days was a lifesaver when Skype shut down its service. The eSim feature is fantastic! I travel quite a bit, and not having to stress about global roaming charges thanks to their data package is such a relief. Plus, their chat support team is top-notch, always ready to help. While a desktop app would be a nice addition in the future, the mobile app works perfectly for me. Overall, the service and pricing are spot on. Highly recommend giving Fonus a try!

    I've gotta share my experience

I've gotta share my experience with Fonus. It's been such a breeze dealing with them. Their customer service is just out of this world. I mean, they helped me switch my number from another provider in just one day, can you believe it? And when I messed up and needed refunds, they sorted it out not once, but twice without any hassle. The best part? I can call anyone, anywhere in the world. No hoops to jump through like with other carriers that demand a local address or number. It's liberating, seriously. Fonus, you've won me over with your amazing service!

    Fonus got me covered

I've been using Fonus for quite some time, and let me tell you, it's been pretty awesome. The price is right, and the service in Canada meets all my data needs. But where Fonus really stands out is when I'm traveling. I mean, it works in over 100 countries! It’s like my trusty sidekick on all my adventures. Plus, they’re always looking to make things better for us. Just got their new V5 SIM, and it's been running smoothly. Whether I'm at home or abroad, Fonus got me covered.

I've been using Fonus since they first started in 2020, and their latest update is a game-changer. They’ve added more countries you can use it in and the speed is way better now. Back in Canada, it felt like my connection was stuck at 100Mbit, but now there’s 5G and it feels like I’m getting the real deal. Lower latency too, which is awesome for streaming and gaming. The new update is seriously impressive. If you're on the fence about Fonus, this might just convince you.

    Using Fonus has been quite

Using Fonus has been quite a mixed bag for me. The tech support team is on point, always ready to help out, which is great because the app itself is a bit of a rollercoaster. It's a solid choice for saving money, but if you're a business traveler, be ready to spend some time figuring out the local network settings. Fonus promises an "auto network" feature soon, which should make things a lot easier. The texting interface feels a bit dated, and I miss the ease of my phone's native texting app. On the bright side, the new native dialer integration is a win, but getting it set up was a bit of a headache. Overall, it’s a work in progress, but worth checking out for the value.

    It's a mixed bag

I recently tried out this service, attracted by its decent pricing and the promise of international coverage. While it does connect globally, the quality of international calls can be a bit of a letdown. There's this annoying delay that sometimes pops up, making conversations harder than they should be. And the internet? Not the best. I mean, we're talking low speeds and a high ping, which is strange since I'm in Canada, but the servers are based in Texas. It's like they're trying to make things hard on purpose! The connection just isn't reliable, and even simple WhatsApp calls drop more often than I'd like. It's a mixed bag, really. Feels like they need to sort these issues out.
