Ally's been good to me. The fraud locks happen a lot, which is annoying. But other than that, it's been great.

This opinion is about Ally Home Mortgage. I don't suggest them. At the start, it was fine but later it became confusing and their site is not easy to use. Stuff is hard to find, and lots of folks are involved which is confusing. They don't always handle requests, so I paid PMI when I shouldn't have. Also, got asked to pay a late fee by the title company because nobody said to contact them. The mortgage isn't managed by Ally, it goes to other companies and you don't know.

I payed off my vehicle loan on Ally's website yesterday. There's supposed to be an online "Title Tracker" to track status. Today they've basically closed my online account - I can get in but can't see statements or any other loan info - including this "Title Tracker". I called the automated system, and there is no record of my soc sec number. I got through to an agent who told me it will be up to 10 business days to confirm payment and then up to another 10 business days to send the lien release. I need to sell the vehicle quickly and now I have to way up to a month to get the lien release, and I don't trust this based on my experience so far. For my last auto loan at a local credit union I walked in and received the lien release in 5 minutes. Other than this I haven't had any problems with Ally, but this isn't good.

If I could, I'd give them no stars. The worst leasing experience ever. Hidden charges, extra fees, and dreadful customer service are just some of the issues. We paid off our lease completely, only to get hit with another $745 charge right before turning the car in. We paid that too and returned the car in perfect condition and under mileage. A week later, we received another $420 charge because we didn’t lease or buy another car from Ally Bank. They haven’t even inspected our car yet, but I bet they’ll find something to charge us for once they do. In short, avoid Ally Financial. Ally Bank is awful, and if you’re considering leasing or buying, stay away from this financial company. I won’t be doing any more business with them. This isn’t my first lease, but it will be my last. Good luck to anyone who deals with this shady firm.

Terrible customer service!

Terrible customer service! I wasted 5 hours on the phone trying to talk to a supervisor, only to be passed around without any help. This is really poor service. They don't have any answers regarding your own information; they just take your money and make you jump through hoops for nothing!!! Avoid this company at all costs. I will definitely share my experience on social media to show how bad this company and their services are!!!

This is probably the worst company to finance a car with. They never inform you about important things until it’s too late. The customer support is terrible. I really hope this company gets taken to court soon because they are scamming people with the late fees and adding unnecessary charges to your car payment.
