Course Hero has some
by George

Course Hero has some useful stuff, but it is limited with only free access. I didn't use it very much, but I contributed quite a bit for 1 course. 2 years later I received an email from them saying my contributions were helpful to 83 students, that's nice to know (even though I just got those from the course site..). But it also said I'm eligible for a $5 amazon gift card, well turns out they want me to submit 10 more documents to be actually eligible for that or to ask a tutor a question. That's ridiculous... I've uploaded every lecture and 3 past tests from 1 course, and even though that's helpful, I have to submit about as many documents just to redeem what they've received money for... I understand there are costs to running a site of this calibre but it definitely doesn't encourage me to continue to support a site like this.

Feeling cheated.
by Minh

Feeling cheated. The costs are too much for what you get, and they add on extra fees without clear notice. Using their site is more annoying than useful; finding anything good is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Customer service is basically nonexistent. The content, which is supposed to be their strong point, is old, sometimes incorrect, and can be found elsewhere for free. It's not worth the trouble or the cash. You're better off using other resources that are truly helpful and upfront about expenses. Total disappointment.

The stuff they use is just okay.
by David

The stuff they use is just okay. I stopped my subscription but got charged again without knowing. I reached out to support right after, asking for my money back, but they said no. So, keep an eye out if you're using this place, especially for the service.

I tried Course Hero because
by Gina

I tried Course Hero because SparkNotes didn't cover the novel I was studying. The notes seemed to be written with a certain bias, leaning heavily to the left. Some of the comments felt subjective rather than objective. For example, one character was labeled a sociopath simply for being selfish, which seems like a stretch. I wouldn't suggest it as a replacement for SparkNotes.

CourseHero's approach to preview
by Anonymous

CourseHero's approach to preview access is limited, leaving buyers with incomplete insights into the document's potential usefulness. The policy of not refunding money after accessing any documents creates a challenging situation for users who are unable to evaluate the content's relevance to their coursework. This business model appears to capitalize on students' aspirations to improve their academic performance, potentially leading to quick subscriptions, minimal document access, and subsequent disengagement. Such a strategy could be perceived as exploitative and raises concerns about the company's commitment to supporting students in their educational endeavors.

As a former tutor on Course Hero
by Moomin Azad

As a former tutor on Course Hero, I faced a frustrating situation. Despite earning $130, my account got blocked for ID verification before withdrawal. Unfortunately, even after submitting the required documents, my account remains inaccessible. Repeated attempts to contact tutor support have yielded no response, leaving me dissatisfied with the overall experience.

Absolute scam! Don't trust
by Mrigendra

Absolute scam! Don't trust this company. I got approved as a tutor, put in a week's worth of work, and had $70 pending in my account. Out of nowhere, they claimed I violated their terms and disabled my account, leaving me high and dry. It's a deceitful tactic to exploit your labor, banning you right before payday. Stay far away from this dishonest operation!

My tutor account, with a flawless 100%
by Usman

My tutor account, with a flawless 100% helpful rating, got disabled without any notification. After complying with their account verification, they reinstated it only to disable it again a week later. Multiple emails led to the same exhausting verification loop, and they ultimately declared my account permanently closed. Despite the negligible balance, the entire experience feels like a colossal waste of time. Chegg, without a doubt, offers a far superior alternative.

My experience as a tutor on
by Julian An

My experience as a tutor on this platform was utterly disappointing. After diligently working for over three weeks, I encountered an unexpected hurdle. Attempts to withdraw my hard-earned $500 were futile, with no explanation provided. Communication regarding any alleged violation was nonexistent, leaving me frustrated and considering this platform unscrupulous. I strongly advise steering clear of such a deceitful website.

Man, seriously considering a zero-star
by LL

Man, seriously considering a zero-star rating here. Joined thinking it's around 11 bucks a month – not a bad deal, right? But bam, they hit me with over 100 dollars on my debit card. What? No heads up on that! And get this, I'm clicking around to check out assignments for my course, and suddenly they're charging me because I viewed them? No connection to my subject whatsoever. Now they're saying no refunds. Anyone got a hotline to sort this mess out? Not feeling the love for this membership right now.

They're trying to pull
by Keisha

They're trying to pull a fast one, making you upload files, promising a free download, but guess what? Nope, nada! You're left hanging, and that's just not cool. Watch out for these folks, folks. Scam vibes all the way.

Man, Coursehero let me down
by Aarzoo Koundal

Man, Coursehero let me down big time! The tutoring is like watching paint dry – takes forever to explain stuff. Ended up missing out on homework 'cause of the slowpoke answers. And don't get me started on the A.I. – scans my homework and acts like it's on another planet. No help at all. I'm sticking with Chegg, way more reliable.

So, had a bit of a hiccup
by kesean g

So, had a bit of a hiccup where they charged me for a full year instead of the monthly subscription I wanted. But, hats off to them, they got it fixed up real quick. No fuss, no muss – got my money back in the bank. Solid move on their part, and it turned a potential headache into a smooth resolution.

Responsive approach to customer concerns
by LL

I initially faced an issue with an unexpected $71.00 charge due to an auto-renewal setup despite not using the service for three months. The first representative claimed there was little they could do. However, a subsequent email from another representative assured me that the charges would be reversed. This demonstrated a responsive approach to customer concerns and a commitment to rectifying billing discrepancies.
