I can't express enough how great my 7 days on the Sea Star were.

I can't express enough how great my 7 days on the Sea Star were. The 85-foot Sea Star, built in 1965, is simply stunning and well-maintained. The crew (Erik, Tracy, Steve, and Misty) were fantastic, friendly, and so helpful. The gourmet meals will make your mouth water. My cabin was cozy and comfortable. I loved that each cabin had its own full bathroom. The best places to relax on board, besides the deck with its amazing views, were the living and dining rooms. You'll feel right at home. I was on a photography tour along the Katmai coast. The Sea Star made the perfect base. Captain Erik took us ashore to photograph brown bears emerging from hibernation and feeding on sedge grasses and clams. It was an honor to be so close to such amazing animals. Experiencing it aboard the Sea Star was an unforgettable adventure of a lifetime!

If I were to review the different parts of our journey with North Pacific Expeditions, I would rate each part highly. The ship is well-maintained, with spacious and cozy common areas. The crew was friendly and helpful. The food was a pleasant surprise—each meal was delicious. Eric, the captain and owner, is great at planning the route for the best experience. Although we've visited Alaska before, this trip stood out, especially when the captain took the time to park near an active glacier for over an hour. The coves where we spent the night were peaceful, with amazing views. We're avid hikers, and the two hikes we took were really special. We also enjoyed kayaking twice. We saw plenty of wildlife, and since the ship is small, we could get really close. Even with all the activities, the experience still felt very relaxing.

North Pacific Expeditions provided a great Alaska adventure while cruising through Prince William Sound. The crew on Sea Star was very attentive and made our trip more enjoyable than we could have imagined. They organized exciting activities and really paid attention to our needs, making the trip unforgettable. The food was excellent, some of the best we’ve ever had! Throughout our excursions, we were always with knowledgeable and experienced guides, so we felt safe the whole time. Thanks for an amazing journey!

I’m not sure what else to add to the many great experiences others have had with the Sea Star and Captain Erik. Our family enjoyed a unique tour of Prince William Sound and all the amazing scenery and wildlife it features. The crew made everything even better! I can’t express how much I appreciate their care and support. And the food! Did I mention how good it was? You could never have the same experience on a large ship. Thanks to Erik and his team for a memory that will last forever!
