I've been a customer of Microcenter

I've been a customer of Microcenter for years and have bought a lot of laptops and other gear from them and never had a issue. When I heard from a online forum and computer news site that Microcenter had bad reviews - I was shoked. I feel far more secure buying my equipment from a local store with actual people with whom I can interact than buying online from sellers unknown.

I was working on my 3rd build and ran into an issue

I was working on my 3rd build and ran into an issue. After looking at the Asus website for support, which didn’t help, I decided to bring my computer to MicroCenter for repair. They figured out the problem and fixed it. The repair cost was worth it. Every time I have a question about parts, their staff is always willing to help.

I bought a computer with an extended warranty in 5/2023.

I bought a computer with an extended warranty in 5/2023. Had an issue with a bracket holding the fan over the cpu. Took it in for warranty repair. They asked for $40 saying labor isn’t included. Then the manager mentioned that broken parts aren’t covered. If they don’t cover broken parts, what does the warranty do? The description says no extra fees or deductibles, but they still charged me $40. When I bought the warranty, they said everything was covered, even if the computer had to be replaced. I had to complain for a while before getting a refund. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of the refund. The lesson is to avoid buying an extended warranty. It’s a trick they don’t honor as advertised. I even showed them their own website. They said it’s up to interpretation. Sorry, it says no hidden charges or deductibles. How can that be open to interpretation? I recommend reading the warranty in detail before buying it.

    Microcenter is ok for advice

Microcenter is ok for advice when you want to spend thousands on a system, but if you got a problem, their tech team is incompetent. After spending over $4,000 on a custom-build, they just throw their hands in the air if it don't work. Beware if you need anything more than a off-the-shelf equipment.

I bought a Micrcenter PC and it was junk

I bought a Micrcenter PC and it was junk from day one. I went againt my bettr judgement and thought it was just a few small things in windows but it just got worse and worse. The memory I bought was also bad. Biggest piece of junk I've ever bought in my life, what a waste of 3k.

Took my laptop in for a memory upgrade

Took my laptop in for a memory upgrade; it was working fine as Staples Computer tech had just checked it (3 days before). It took them 6 weeks to return it, and every time I called, nobody knew what was going on, and I never got a call back. I had to agree to a motherboard upgrade ($$$) just to get it back!!...I will NEVER use this company agian!!
