I'm a Veteran, I joined this while still serving in the Army.

I'm a Veteran, I joined this while still serving in the Army. Before that, I felt really lost and didn’t have much going on. I was stationed somewhere gloomy all the time, and you couldn’t really go anywhere or do much. I used to get panic attacks every week and felt like giving up often. When I started this program, I found a super caring group who have turned into real friends. One of them ended up becoming my roommate after I got out, and now we plan to get married. She means the world to me, and I would have never met her without joining this. Product was a great therapist, gave me stuff I needed to help me be someone I like now. First time in ages I feel okay inside, like I can deal with life better. I feel good about myself, and I got solid people around me that I never thought I’d know. Everyone’s way is not the same, but for me, it totaly changed my life. And I’m good with that.

I got lucky and found a friendly, caring group of people

I got lucky and found a friendly, caring group of people close to my age and life situation that meets on weekends. I also really like how each meeting is set up so everyone gets time to share and reflect on their week. I'm a bit sad my group changed so fast after I joined. I hope it stays more steady from now on. Our group doesn’t usually play games together, but you can if you want. It’s a bit tricky to really talk and play a game at the same time, so I don’t mind much. I definetly suggest it for folks who want support without needing to go anywhere or use a camera.

I’ve liked being part of my group at HeroJourney and I’m happy

I’ve liked being part of my group at HeroJourney and I’m happy I gave it a try. Dealing with depression is something I go through and having the weekly group talks makes it easier. In other groups I’ve been to, it was harder to feel like I belonged and things felt heavier. What’s nice about HeroJourney is that it feels more relaxed and it’s simpler to talk since we all play a game as a team. My group councelor gives good advice and I find it useful when she shares new ways to deal with depression.

I’m happy with the weekly group counseling

I’m happy with the weekly group counseling sessions with my therapist and the group. I like that we don’t have to worry about how we appear or even use our real names. You can choose how much or how little to share. Since I deal with social and performance anxiety, the anonymity helps me feel more safe and at ease to be myself.

I’m a 28 year old woman and mental health has been a challenge for me for a long time. I’ve been with HJC since 2023 and joined two groups. The support from others is amazing; I truly feel supported by the journey guides and fellow journeyers. Would definitely recomend!

Hero Journey Club helped me find a group where I belong.

In the group meetings, I know there are people I can trust. Also, I can talk to them even when we are not in sessions. I don’t feel lonely anymore and get good support. They keep bringing fresh activities and thoughts.

This is the nicest group therapy I’ve ever joined. Doing activities as we chat helps my anxiety go down a lot. The guides know their stuff and keep things interesting. I always look foward to group every week.

I was glad to be put with a kind, understanding bunch of folks

I was glad to be put with a kind, understanding bunch of folks close to my age and going thru similar stuff. We meet up on weekends which works great for me. I enjoy how the meetings go—everyone gets a turn to share about their week and listen to others. It was a bit disapointing when the group changed not long after I got in, but I'm hoping things settle down. My group doesn’t really do games but you can if that’s your thing. It's kinda tricky to focus on deep stuff and play at once, so it’s fine by me. I’d say it’s good for anyone needing support without having to leave home or show your face.
