I was referred by my doctor for an MRI on my pelvis/SIJ, and got an appointment at Taunton Diagnostic Centre within a few days of being contacted. I was a bit nervous about the procedure, as I can’t lie flat on my back without feeling pain, and I also have a fear of tight spaces. I didn’t need to worry: the table was covered in a soft mattress, my head was supported by soft foam and lifted, which helped my back. There were also armrests for comfort, and a wedge under my knees. I felt quite relaxed during the whole scan. For my claustrophobia, a mirror on the ceiling of the tube showed a screen with a peaceful nature scene, including fluffy clouds, flying birds, and moving balloons. This helped me feel at ease in the enclosed space. I was well taken care of, from the moment I walked in to the time I left. Sam, Donna, and Pravin ensured I was comfortable, relaxed, and explained everything clearly. I would definitely recommend the service.

I had a self/referred MRI last week - very skilled staff - tidy and very updated space - got a phone call with my scan results not good, then received written reports and access to images.

Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. Scheduled an open MRI at Harley Street, but the receptionist was unable to help with any inquiries and also didn’t send me the details via email. My first appointment got cancelled the night before by phone, and the rescheduled one was set for three weeks later. This second one was also cancelled similarly. I found another place for my scans; I wouldn’t recommend Alliance Medical Centre.

Had a private abdominal MRI since gallbladder pain

Had a private abdominal MRI since gallbladder pain was unbearable and NHS wait for an ultrasound was too long. Got the MRI done and results showed no issues (no gallstones or changes). I was taking 8 cocodamols daily for the pain. Traveled to Poland, saw a surgeon, and ultrasound revealed my gallbladder was full of microstones. Unsure what to make of it.. £350 down the drain.

I had a PETCT in Guildford and I am not happy. I had a PETCT a few months ago, and since I'm under multiple consultants, I needed to get the images to share with them. They wouldn’t give me the images on a CD, instead sending them in an encrypted zip file that I can’t open. This was a BUPA funded scan, and this mess has been going on for months. What's the point of having a scan if you can't even access the results?
