Great service, tasty food, good
Great service, tasty food, good quality wine, and housekeeping was on point. The crew was friendly and helpful, and the guides during the trips were also great. Overall, we had a very good time. The Douro Valley is a lovely region, and we're glad we went there. We might not choose another river cruise next time since it wasn't as active as we hoped, but we have no complaints.

We just finished our 5th river cruise, 4 of which were with Emerald, and we are happy with our choice. The boats are comfortable, the crew is always friendly, polite, and ready to help, and the food is really good. The on-shore activities and tours are great, with local guides who really know their stuff and love showing off their towns. Everything has been very good!

Recently took a cruise on the Danube with Emerald.
Recently took a cruise on the Danube with Emerald. The cruise itself was good, nicely arranged with interesting excursions guided by skilled leaders. But the 'before cruise' part wasn’t great. They only give £500 per person for flights. We flew a budget airline and had a long 3-hour layover in Amsterdam on the return trip. The actual flight cost was about £300, but we couldn't get any refund. We also asked for an extra 3 days at the end, but they charged us £250 a night for the Barcelo hotel in Budapest, while the website listed it for £125. Lastly, we wanted to use Jet2 for direct flights from Budapest, but they said they only use regular airlines, not budget ones. Ironically, our original Lufthansa flight got switched to a budget airline. So, enjoy your cruise but think twice about booking extra hotels with them. Also, try to arrange your own flights.

The cabin was cozy and very clean.
The cabin was cozy and very clean. We participated in the daily tours, all guided by friendly and knowledgeable locals. The food offered a great variety, with options for both healthy meals and indulgence. The staff on the boat were all polite and quick to help.
