Capital One credit cards offer lots of perks
Capital One credit cards offer lots of perks (5 stars), but you have to rely on their customer service to make the most of them. (Minus 3 stars)
1) They lack a direct line for travel bookings, and the travel voice prompt is faulty, causing trouble.
2) I made a hotel reservation in Mexico that failed. Thankfully, we noticed this before it was too late.
3) I made 2 hotel reservations with wrong bed sizes. This issue made price matching difficult since they only match exact bookings, which is tough with incorrect listings. ($150 extra expense)
4) They ask you to book before price matching, but they don’t list the companies they match prices with ($250 extra expense)
5) I booked a rental car with the right dates and times, but Capital One listed it as 1 day. At the rental place, I was charged for a second day, and Capital One supported this, refusing to correct their own record ($200 extra expense)
6) When I got to the hotel, the prepayment didn’t go through, but it was sorted out.
7) Their team can’t fix errors, only offer apologies and a $50 credit... which they messed up, accidentally giving me a $50 bonus instead.
